Kevin,

I am loving Chase plane!… Another suggestion would be to include importing presets from a very good camera package of which I'm sure you're aware called OpusFSX(I).

Thanks,

Chas

Hi Chas,

OpusFSX preset files are stored as binaries. While it would be possible to decompile them it would not be the ideal method.

We'll do one better and give you the possibility to import camera definitions from the aircraft.cfg files directly. I guess this would be a good way to transition presets from Opus to ChasePlane.

Loving Chase Plane & its only in Alpha

Are you proposing to provide a "spot view" facility allowing to pan round the a/c using the Hat switch?

Also what about allowing the hat switch to be used for both normal Pan view & also to be used for preset selection?

Great job so far

Unfortunately I bought it just for the purpose of creating and using the static camera.

Read again:

Experimental Mode (+Static Camera Mode)

If you want to use new features that have not been released to the masses yet, you can enable Experimental Mode. In Alpha 1, this mode enables you to use the Static Camera Mode to move around freely without being attached to the aircraft. Note that Static presets cannot be saved yet and that you need a supported simulator to use this feature.

Does Experimental Mode attach key bindings when importing from another aircraft? What about clicking to enter key press rather than using CTRL then clicking on the blue or red assignment button?

Keven,

Just purchased ChasePlane yesterday and so far I am enjoying the heck out of it. Setting different views in the VC is so easy and smooth. I'm really excited for the future of this utility. One question: When outside the airplane I would like to move around the aircraft using the center mouse button (just like inside the VC) but I am finding that I can only move side to side. I am unable to move up or down. I apologize if this has already been addressed, but is this a known "bug" that is on the list to be addressed or have I missed something in the settings? Keep up the great work.

Todd

  1. No, will be in Alpha 2
  2. The use of CTRL prevents you from accidentally entering the assignment overlay

In Alpha 1, you have to use the camera modes that are included in ChasePlane. Spot View and other sim views are not yet functional but will be in Alpha 2.

Does anyone know how to move a static camera faster?

  1. Speed Boost
  2. Move the sliders in the Advanced tab of the Camera page

I found out the hard way: changing the cpu assignments during flight causes prepar3d v3 to crash.

Not a show stopper, just don't do it during flight :)

Is there any way to have the scroll wheel zoom only active when holding the space bar?

I am trying to set chaseplane to be as close to the default camera controls while still having the extra features of the software.

Now the scroll zoom feature is here it is so close to what I want, but since I also use the mouse wheel to set all my cockpit instuments by hovering over them and scrolling, its impossible for me to devote the mouse wheel to zoom function full time.   Is there a way to make it only zoom while the mouse look button is being held???

Is there somewhere that I can read what these other features do?  Track aircraft?  Track IR?  What does this stuff even mean?
