Cirrus Vision Jet

Featured Replies

This thing holds a special place in my heart.  A few months back I was able to take to the sky in the real Vision jet.  It was still an experimental at that point and the interior wasn't finished, but the pilot let me fly it for a little while (I hold a PPL ASEL) - it was amazing!

So with that I was ecstatic to see the Vision jet as a default aircraft in XP11.  I purchased the software this evening and even though the sim is beta, the environment is stunning!  The PBR effects/textures - you really can't see all too well in screenshots, you need to be in the sim to really appreciate them, but I thought you might see PBR working very well in these shots.  Especially note the taxi lines being reflection on the bottom of the wing and even on the front of the engine nacelle!

(I'm not sure what the status of the avionics are - the real one is obviously nicer a G3000 I believe and I wouldn't expect much for default but their avionics in the sim are abysmal lol - read "room for improvement!" )

Anyway I've just stracthed the surface of the sim...  took about 5-10 min to re-setup my controls (based on XP10), had one CTD so far (being a beta I'm not surprised).  But I really like the new controller setup, the new GUI, the sounds are awesome etc.  If this is XP 11.00pb1 I can't wait to see what Laminar comes up with in the coming months!!!

Agree with others, the haze is a bit overkill at the moment

Likewise wow, so envious... :)

It does have that parachute but do you know it's engine-out glide ratio?

A very impressive looking model! Did you switch to a wide angle lens to get your huge grin in the frame in that first photo?   One fortunate guy!
