Both our laptops are macs. I do believe they are built better and last longer than your comparable PC laptop. 

 

When I had my IT company, I fixed a lot of MacBooks, but they were almost always a result of cracked screens or spills frying motherboards. I never had all the other issues I'd see with PC laptops with them and of course you almost never saw software/virus issues (sometimes you did, but it was so easy to get rid of compared to PCs). 

 

Also, anecdotally, my MacBooks have survived some crazy drops that your average plastic PC laptop wouldn't of made it through.

Have you run Win 7 or10 on Parallels or other VM software on your macs?  If I end up w/ another mac I will maybe try to run Win 7 in Parallels since I still have a copy of Win 7 I think I can install.  The newer MBP's will not run Win 7 in Basecamp, unless maybe you could have an older version of OSx installed.
