After passing roughly 12000 ft, sim freezes intermittently

Featured Replies

As the topic title says, keeps happening where after 12000, every minute or so the sim will freeze for roughly 30 seconds to a minute at a time, once every minute. Unbearable. FSUIPC autosave is off. Any ideas?

Addons: NGX, FSX:SE, Win10, FTX Global, vector, OpenLc EU, AS16

We need more info. Addons in use? FSX Boxed or FSX-SE? Your system spec? Your fsx.CFG? Passing 12000ft during climb or descent?

The thread is tagged FSX-SE and is listed in addons, so that should answer that question.  Now for my stupid question.....will the Sim freeze if you keep the aircraft below 12,000 feet?  I'm assuming climb from takeoff to 12,000. Any unusual weather conditions?  Is it the same for all departure airports?

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!

Does it happen without AS16 as well?

If you're running Windows Defender or MS Security Essentials exclude your FSX process or folder(s) or switch to another antivirus program. WD and MSE are real showstoppers when it comes to performance.

My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days

I run WDF here without any problems.

I suggest you reinstall the SimConnect modules. This usually

does the trick when experiencing strange stutters and pauses.
