February 9, 20179 yr Reading through this thread is somehow confusing. Sorry for my incompetence, but what would be the best (performance-wise): In sim volumetric fog on or off? Fog layer in AS16 active or not? Max vis. 200 or less? Fog layer in AS16 is fine, disable volumetric fog in P3D set max cloud draw in AS16 at 200, this is in their notes for options setup Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz (8 cores) Hyper on, Evga RTX 3060 12 Gig, 32 GB ram, Windows 11, P3D v6, and MSFS 2020 and a couple of SSD's

February 12, 20179 yr Author I finally solved the problem along with help from tech support. They suggested last week after I submitted a ticked about erratic FPS and stutters after updating to 6239, that I totally uninstall AS 16 using Windows control panel and check uninstalling all files associated with it like settings. I waited until this weekend to do it, and yesterday uninstalled everything Including AS aconnect 2016. I then downloaded a fresh copy from Simarket which already had the latest version and installed it. Had to redo all my settings, and after 3 flights, no stutters and FPS are as they were before doing the update. I guess something happened when I installed the 6239 patch, causing the problems I was getting.
February 12, 20179 yr Moderator There is a good point in there too - many times we uninstall a product and then reinstall with no effect. Nowadays applications put settings and cfg files all over the place and it's important to check and delete those JIC the uninstaller doesn't remove them. Glad you got it sorted Bob.
