December 24, 200520 yr I have not installed this addon yet but it does look amazing. My question is, what are the best settings to get it to display different areas all at once? I plan on flying around the big island, but I noticed you have to select a region and it will install textures for that region. thats too bad, is there any way to mix up the textures so I can get different regions at once?
December 24, 200520 yr Alex, I have it installed today and changed the textures on the fly. I was in the Central area and fly into the Northern area and just brought up the tex switcher and changed it. The changes appeared in FS without a reload. Truely amazing piece of work and many thanks to the VOZ team for this effort.Best, RobRedding, CA
December 24, 200520 yr Good to see it's so popular! Hopefully we'll stir some more interest up for Downunder projects :) Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
December 24, 200520 yr Rob, You daring man you! :-samurai I would'nt even have thought of doing the texture change on the fly. I will try it now though... :DCheers,Gerhard Regards, Gerhard "I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things" (Antoine de Saint-Exupery)
December 24, 200520 yr Commercial Member If one can change textures "on the fly" with little impact that would mean this type of switcher could be applied to all areas where there is need for customized textures yet breaking the bounds of the limit FS puts on the number of different textures it provides. Interesting thought... December 24, 200520 yr Huge thankyou. This is stunning. Particularly in an area I never fly in. The changes are so dramatic it's a whole new ball game flying there. Wow!
December 24, 200520 yr Changing textures on the fly will result in a "mix" of different region textures shown in your current flight. To make the textures consistent again, you need to assign a hot-key to the FS2004 "refresh" function which forces FS9 to reload the textures. So yes, it *is* possible by has to be done with a refresh.
December 30, 200520 yr I notice that Koorby says you can do this texture change thing on the fly thing but only if you force a FS2004 refresh. How do you do this?Bruceb Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. December 30, 200520 yr with fsuipc you can assign a key to texture refresh. and I think there is a reload scenery option in the in-game menu as well.I have not installed this addon yet but I did download it... still waiting to fix my crash problems before I run it, but I cannot wait to fly around the big island!

Assign a key-combo to it, such as Ctrl-Shift-S and exit.Note that the assignment may not take effect until closing and restarting FS9. Fr. January 2, 200620 yr Wow, I am back from vacation to find nearly 650 members signed up at the vistaoz.org forums and over 22,000 downloads (or thereabouts, I understand the technicalities) from AVSIM. Plus the many, mnay superb screenshots, videos and scenery designers coming out of the woodwork - fantastic! That deserves a big THANK YOU!!!! to the FS community for your overwhelming support. I'll post a seperate thank you shortly, but to say I am overwhelmed is an understatement! :)

January 25, 200620 yr I just wanted to congratulate John,I've been talking to him about his ideas, skills and textures and I can honestly say this guy is a pro and as good as anybody I've seen at any level. He is the best of the best and someday Anthony and I hope to have the pleasure of working with him on a commercial package. This is a must have package for anyone flying in Austrailia and if you have not yet tried there with Vos you'll love every minute.I also wanted to publically thank John for supporting Anthony and I with our Ground Environment package which John has given us the go ahead to use his KoobyGen autogen textures with it.Thanks ever so much john,Peter and Anthony
January 25, 200620 yr Peter, thanks mate for you kind words. If I can indulge in a little mutual admiration, the stuff you and Anthony have shown me from GE2006 is nothing short of ground-breaking. Can't wait to get my hands on it.As for VOZ, we are hard at work on 1.1 and if you visit VOZ forums there are new screenshots being posted. I am continually amazed and honoured by the FS community for their support of our project. We have passed the 1,000 user mark on our forum and based on download projections, will probably pass the 100,000 download mark for VOZ by year's end. Here's a snippet of what we are doing now for the urban area.Melbourne suburbs, over Hobson's bay - city of Altona:http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b141/koo...ing/Urban23.jpgMelbourne suburbs closeup - this is in the city of Knox area:http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b141/koo...ned_houses1.jpgThanks again for your kind words Peter.
