February 17, 20179 yr I am looking to upgrade my venerable GTX980 to the 1080. Which would offer the best bang-for-the-buck, FE, FTW some other one? System specs are i4790 stable at 4.6. I'm running P3D with a triple (1080) monitor setup all using DisplayPort I will say I am partial to EVGA cards as the past ones have treated me well. Thanks Kevin -.- . ...- .. -. February 22, 20179 yr Just put in an EVGA GTX1080 FTW ACX3.0. It has identical specs to the 1080 FTW2 ICX that they just released and they dropped the price about $80 on the FTW. I replaced a ZOTAC 980 and saw about a 10% increase in FPS. Jeff Callender
February 22, 20179 yr When you decide on a particular card, it's worth Googling "coil whine" to make sure that it's not a problem with the card you've selected. i7-14700k | Asus ROG STRIX Z790-F Gaming WIFI | 32GB DDR5 RAM | MSI RTX 4080 Super | WD Black SN850X 1TB & 2TB | Corsair HX1000i ATX3.0 | MSI MAG401QR 40" monitor | Win 11 Pro 64-bit | Meta Quest 3
February 22, 20179 yr EVGA My 780ti failed a while back after 2 1/2 years of hard use, it was replaced by EVGA with a 980 without question or cost. Can't say fairer than that. Mick
February 22, 20179 yr I'm using a 650 ti and find that's more then enough to run full sliders and up to 4 x SGSS in fsx. Anything else is total overkill. Bazza.
