What is your test airfield?

Recommended Posts

Mine is KSAN, San Diego, CA.  My hometown airport, good mix of city, water, easily get into mountains and desert.  But usually my test airport is wherever I happen to be modeling - what ever is the closest airport.   That way I get a good variety.

Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, EVGA GeForce 3080 Ti, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!)  Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11),  EVGA 1300W PSU
Netgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displays
Full array of Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit

KNLC for me. Very familiar with the procedures and parking there so easy to concentrate on the new aircraft.

Good thread, thanks for the heads up about KTNT, there is a nice scenery for it too.

EGGD Bristol, being my home town and test airport.  I use UK2000 Extreme Bristol scenery along with Justflights photo scenery.

I know how things perform ther, wher an occasional stutter appears and can test new aircraft knowing what my usual framerates are, etc.

When testing gliders, I fly from Halesland, where I have made a small scenery of my own and Weston Super Mare, where I have some addon scenery that I have added a few objects to.

I test microlights at Weston Zoyland where I also have some downloaded scenery.

YMAV Avalon just west of Melbourne Australia. I use Orbx Australia & Orbx Avalon Airport. It's my default airport and has a 3km runway so it can handle anything I choose to fly.

KMCO by Taxi2Gate - They did a beautiful job with that one. I wish they would do KBWI so I could use one closer to home for testing.
