June 13, 20178 yr My sim was operating without problems until today. On opening the splash screen shows and then crashes within about 10 seconds. It will not even try until I restart the computer, but I get the same problem every time. I have disabled my sound card, reloaded a new Klite codec, removed My Traffic 6 add on. I did get a crash from within the sim on loading an aircraft after installing MT6, but the sim opened. I ran the P3d repair tool, which said it performed a successful repair, but the problem persisted. The only thing I haven't tried is unplugging all my USB plugs, but I'm unsure what will happen if I do that. Would reinstalling the client do any good? Any other ideas? Bob Zolto
June 13, 20178 yr Moderator Did you run the "delete generated files" program located in the P3D folder? Read the sticky at the top of the forum for more detail. It will disable all your add-ons but should give you a base to start from. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
June 13, 20178 yr Author Tried that, no joy. I presume it deleted the files, but since the sim won't start, nothing was re-generated. Bob Zolto
June 13, 20178 yr Try manually disabling the military traffic from MT6 - let me know if you need help finding the bgl. There's been reports one or more of those models conflict need a texture update for v4. [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
June 13, 20178 yr Author I removed the military traffic listed in another thread from the MT Aircraft folder. Didn't disable the bgls where are they? Bob Zolto
June 13, 20178 yr A similar crash in booting P3D v4 also happened to me but after copying it to C: \ ProgramData \ Lochkeed Martin \ Prepar3D v4, which I saved after the installation, the crash of P3D v4 has not manifested itself.

Copying what to Program Data? Bob Zolto
June 13, 20178 yr I first deleted the Prepar3D v4 folder on C: \ ProgramData \ Lockheed Martin \ then I did a copy / paste on C: \ ProgramData \ Lockheed Martin \ of the same folder Prepar3D v4 (original) saved after installing Prepar3d v4.

You can do that same thing by just temporarily renaming that directory and letting P3D rebuild it on startup. If that gets P3D loaded to the Scenario screen than you'll have to drill down into what *.cfg or *.xml file in your original directory has the problem. People have reported encoding problems when incorrectly saving the different *.cfg and *.xml files. Duiplicate entries in exe.xml or ddl.xml. Or trying to load a 32bit dll. Corrupt default scenario. June 13, 20178 yr Author I will look into all that. I've used Notepad++ to change any files, so that shouldn't be a problem. I'll update FSUIPC. Bob Zolto
June 13, 20178 yr Author Working now. Updated FSUIPC to latest version. Removed My Traffic 6. Not sure which did the trick, but I suspect FSUIPC. I will redo MT6 and see what happens. Bob Zolto
