Advice needed about motherboard.

Featured Replies

Hi all,
I would need some advice about what motherboard to use in connection with:

CPU: Intel i7-7700k and
GPU: Nvidia GTX1070
Memory: DDR4 3200 Mhz CL15

Thanks,
Christos

I use the same system but with a 6700k, using a Gigabyte Z170 Gaming K3.  Would recommend the Z270 version

Ryzen 9600x 64gb DDR5 6000mhz, Asrock B650m HDV/M.2 Gigabyte 16gb 9070XT, Thermalright Aqua Elite 240mm  2TB NVMe Boot/FS2020 Drive, 2TB NVMe P3D Drive.

I don't think you can really go wrong with almost anything from Asus (which I recommend), Gigabyte or Asrock. Which specific MB you choose just depends on the features you want.

i7-14700k | Asus ROG STRIX Z790-F Gaming WIFI | 32GB DDR5 RAM | MSI RTX 4080 Super | WD Black SN850X 1TB & 2TB | Corsair HX1000i ATX3.0 | MSI MAG401QR 40" monitor | Win 11 Pro 64-bit | Meta Quest 3

How much RAM do you have and do you plan to overclock?

ASUS Maximus IX Hero or Apex (be aware Apex is only 2 RAM slots) or MSI Z270 Gaming M7

Asus strix 270E here.  Love it. Wireless Bluetooth and Wifi for under $200. Easy overclock to 4.9 on my 7700k.
