FS GenesisTerrain Mesh in P3D v.4

Featured Replies

I was able to make FS Genesis v. 1.1 (United States) and v. 1.2 (Canada, Mexico and rest of the world) work in P3D v3.

Does anyone know if it will work in P3D v. 4.0?

Kind regards,

Yes Stephen. Works just fine. And all his Toposim stuff works beautifully also. I cannot speak to the FSG stuff after Justin sold it - don't use any of it.

Thanks Vic,

I was a Justin customer too.

Would not give his successors who took advantage of him the time of day. Hope he is doing well now at Toposim.

BTW, did you just change the destination in the installers?

Yes. I installed them to a separate folder and created addon.xml file to install ( used Lorby tool).

I'm somewhat new to the use of XML files in the P3Dv4 environment, and have been trying to follow many of the forum threads here on the subject. Like you, I have some of the older FSGenesis mesh, and would like to integrate it into P3D. Could you possibly post a msg here, displaying the contents of your add-on.xml file, as it pertains to the mesh.

Would certainly be helpful for my learning experience.Thanks.

Agree 100%.

Hi everyone,

I purchase V2 at half price which I believe is still available.

I followed Justin's directions which I assume would apply to V1 and unzipped the whole world allowing it to create 6 Continent folders to a separate folder which can be anywhere including a different drive. Once done I added each Continent to the scenery library and moved them below Oshkosh in the library. I like that because I can deactivate any part of the world if needed. My scenery library looks like this:

Oshkosh

TOPOSIM North America

TOPOSIM South America

TOPOSIM Africa

TOPOSIM Europe

TOPOSIM Asia

TOPOSIM Oceania

Because of the higher mesh resolutions you will see most US Airports elevated with V2 which I don't find an issue with as it's only noticeable on final approach for a couple minutes out of a 1 to 10  hour flight.

This is for all his toposim stuff but it's the same for the fsg product.

The layer entry numbers look odd.
