March 7, 200620 yr Does anyone know whether there is a BAE146 model available with VC (freeware or payware)?I currently have the Eurowings Commuter package which contains a great BAE146 panel but the aircraft model does not have a VC.Regards,Stuart Hyett
March 7, 200620 yr HelloI dont think there is a 146 with VC, I would like to see one done to the level of the F1 ATR but i doubt it will happen.
March 7, 200620 yr Jon Murchison is updating his BAe and RJ models. A VC was supposedly under development but the latest news doesn't mention it.http://www.flightsim.co.nz/John
March 8, 200620 yr www.abacuspub.com but it flies like it's in syrup. If only it had the Eurowings FDE it would be pretty good.

March 9, 200620 yr Author I'm no expert on this, but, shouldn't you be able to combine the model of the Abacus plane with the FDE of the Eurowings? Wouldn't be able to release it, but there should be concrete steps to do it. I could be wrong, though.I think the steps would be something like:1. Back up Abacus aircraft.cfg and .air files2. Copy the Eurowings .air file to the Abacus directory3. Open the two aircraft.cfg files in a "diff" program like Winmerge or Windiff and move the performance related entries from the Eurowings aircraft.cfg to the Abacus aircraft.cfg, overwriting the Abacus entries. You would be moving sections like (in square brackets, not {}){FLIGHT_TUNING}{Reference Speeds}{weight_and_balance}{GeneralEngineData}{fuel}{airplane_geometry}{Flaps.0}{GeneralEngineData}{TurbineEngineData}{propeller}{turboprop_engine}{brakes}{gear_warning_system}And maybe some others. For instance, you may have to play with the {Contact Points} section. DON'T CHANGE THE FILES IN THE EUROWINGS Directory.I'd ask an expert and search the forums for advice, but I think this is possible.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-) Tom Perry
March 9, 200620 yr Well well well ..how very interesting! So Francisco Sanchez-Castener went payware with his ATR :-eek . Looks like he still needs to resize the speedbug judging by the trial version! :-hah regardsEd http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/edetroit100/holy.gifAMD Athlon 64 3500+, 1024Mb PC3200 DDR, 300Gb HD 128Mb DDR Nvidia 6600GT PCI Express, Audigy 2 ZSCH Products Yoke, Pedals and Throttle Quadrant My FS Videos
March 9, 200620 yr Author Where did you get this information?I have been working forever trying to come up with the best combination of gauges to get an accurate VC with his model (IOW, replacing the broken FS2002 gauges). I've got something that works well, but I'm always looking for better updates.(and what does this have to do with this thread? Not that the information isn't interesting, but perhaps you should have started another thread.)Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-) Tom Perry
March 10, 200620 yr Hello Thomas, go to the Abacus site and download the ATR 72. (You are only going to use the free trial). This actually installs the resized gauges. So if you jump in your freeware versions of your ATR-72 or ATR 42-500 you will find you have a freeware update of your ATR for FS9! :-hah nb: the trial period only affects the abacus model ...not the gauges etc. :) regardsEd http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/edetroit100/holy.gifAMD Athlon 64 3500+, 1024Mb PC3200 DDR, 300Gb HD 128Mb DDR Nvidia 6600GT PCI Express, Audigy 2 ZSCH Products Yoke, Pedals and Throttle Quadrant My FS Videos
March 11, 200620 yr Author I really do like the freeware model, although I wish the VC was clickable.I downloaded the Abacus plane, it doesn't seem too much different from models I've downloaded here at AVSIM. The way the VC zooms so you can't see instruments is extremely disconcerting. I didn't read the directions though to see if I could turn it off.As far as the gauges go, they do seem to be fixed, but, in fact, I had earlier found a set of gauges and panel file that work just as well. I don't remember if I modified it at all.Any idea what the improvements of the Abacus version over the freeware version are?Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-) Tom Perry
