March 20, 200620 yr Who has the Overland group Japanese Airport packages? How are they in detail, framerates, etc? Is the afcad good and does it have accurate GA and cargo parking? Also are the cargo ramps detailed?Im thinking about buying Volume 3 (I think thats it) with RJAA for now to see how it is. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks
March 20, 200620 yr I think they are some of the best sceneries out there. The Japanese Fly Tampa is how I would describe them. Very high detail, great framerates I have no complaints about them at all.

Comparable to other highend scenery addons. Not too much of a framerate killer. The only problem I'm having is that half the planes are sitting in the terminal. I tried to resolve this with the publisher, Overland, but there didn't seem to be an easy way to do it, and I couldn't find any files on their websites that would fix the problem. Because of the new PMDG 747-400F, I might give these airports another try, though. ricardo
March 20, 200620 yr They are great sceneries. But beware - if you rack them up to the gills with AI, it will grind down. RJAA takes well over a 150 planes. I, of course, don't care because I am stubborn. Regards, Max (YSSY) i7-12700K | Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB 3600MHz DDR4 | Gigabyte RTX4090 24Gb | Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE DDR4 | Corsair HX1200 PSU

March 20, 200620 yr Bill,This tread has my interest since I have started buying a few airport packages outside of the US. As a first purchase, which of the six would you recommend. I am leaning toward Vol 3.Thanks,Carl Carl PC AMD Ryzen R7-5700G (8-Core) processor), AMD Radeon RX 6600 Graphics 8GB/ 2TB HD + 500GB SSD, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Win11 _____________________________________________________________________________________
March 21, 200620 yr I recently bought the Overland Package No.5 gonna also buy the ones that has RJAA and RJTT soon, I got inspired to buy No.5 after watching a video of Kansai Airport Construction :DIt's very good rendition IMO, nice on FPS too!
March 21, 200620 yr Author I own all six packages and I HIGHLY reccomend them.. frames are excellent and the short distances between Japanese airports make it ideal to fly even the heavy birds!Don't forget to add the Urakawa Ground Vehicles and Static scenery... they really add realism to the environment! And they don't affect the frames at all!!!Alex
March 21, 200620 yr Thanks for the replies. Ive just been flying a lot lately in Asia and now with the PMDG freighter I think I will be around that area a lot.I will purchase the package with RJAA and probably more if I like them a lot.can anyone tell me if there are updated afcads for better parking with airline codes? Thanks!
March 21, 200620 yr Author I don't know if there are other AFCAD files available for these airports... but the ones that are included are pretty accurate! Since I don't live in Japan or have access to the airports there, I can't verify that they are 100% accurate... but everything seems to be in its place, so to speak. The attention to detail with these sceneries is just incredible.. so I think the AFCAD files are equally as accurate!Traffic o'plenty at all the airports! In all honesty, I would recommend getting ALL of them (if you can afford it..) I put these airports on the same level as FlyTampa and FlightScenery! Butter-smooth frames at nearly ALL of the airports!Depending upon your system, you might encounter a slight drop in frames at the larger airports (i.e. Narita, Haneda, Kansai)... especially with lots of AI traffic... but every other airport has the best frame rates I've ever gotten! My personal favorite is the Hiroshima airport! Beautiful scenery, awesome approach through the mountains, and silky-smooth frames all the way down... even with the most complex aircraft (PMDG, LDS, PSS)The best thing about these airports is that the Japanese airlines operate heavy jets on short-haul, high-density routes... so you can take the big iron into almost every single one of these airports!Again, I HIGHLY recommend investing in them!Alex
March 21, 200620 yr I have the package that it inclues RJTF/RJTO/RJCH/RJFF/RJTT, and overall, they are very good. However, quality varies somewhat between the arirports. RJTT is nicely done, but some of the smaller airports look like they were thrown together at the last minute. I would say that the worst examples are probably comparable to average freeware airportts available in the library. My only real complaint is the mis-aligned AFCAD files taht are included for some of the airports, which result in taxiways not being followed, or planes parked in terminals, etc. In fairness, I have not really been active in looking for a better AFCAD, so they might have fixed this and I just never got around to it. Overall though, I think it's a good deal, and for the price I paid I got 5 airports, 3 of which are outstanding, and the other 2 are "just ok".- Martin My site: www.martinstrong.com/FS_Project.htm
March 21, 200620 yr Hello MartinHow are you. I have almost all your freeware airports.
