March 28, 200620 yr >Here's an interesting way to increase separation between you>and the plane ahead of you:>>http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0708415/L/The photo description is as follows: "A famous a.net photographer goes to work to photograph Turkmenistan's brand new 767 making an approach during its first flight. In the background, a McChord based C-17 Globemaster III weaves agressively down the approach to create sufficient spacing from the 767 to undertake a touch and go" Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
March 28, 200620 yr Here's an experience I had a few days ago:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/145999.jpg(yes, you can see jaggies :-roll)I was descending for KLGA, when this LOT 767 crossed my path. I had to climb 1000ft, to avoid a crash"If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter - and therefore, unsafe." http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v615/DarrenA300/unsure.gif Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
March 29, 200620 yr From the look of it, FS9 Configurator changes the taxi speed by directly editing a DLL file. It's apparently not a config file option."Let me help you out. You're cleared to taxi any way you can to any runway you see."
March 30, 200620 yr Happens to me,too.........but only after a long flight,I'm soooo tired,I just want to land,,,,then out of nowhere,ATC clears AI to land same runway. Add another 30 minutes for the go-around.....it is pretty funny, though:D :D
March 30, 200620 yr Author Like others the midair high speed collisions are always a shock, but the wierdest was one foggy day at KSFO when I was first revamping my AI. Removed PAI and installed another bunch of stuff - I swear there were some thirty or more airliners approaching/going around all at once, like flies or something - everything from 744s to A319s, before things settled downIt was surreal and creepy to see airliners bunched like that, the fog, the better models, it all seemed so real - scaryregards,Markhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpgXPHomeSP2/FS9.1/3.2HT/1024mb/X700pro256 Regards, Mark
April 14, 200620 yr These are the most interesting AI screenshots I've taken over the past six months.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/147158.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/147159.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/147160.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/147161.jpg
April 14, 200620 yr I always find it amusing when an aircraft tries to land, but the airport is under IFR conditions. They'll be told they can't land, so they'll immediately contact the tower again and ask to to land...The other day one aircraft had been asking so long that it had gone right past the airport and was fifty miles out on the other side going "tower XXXXX is 50 miles north, to land."I also have a location where I built a fictional airport, 90% of the traffic flying there is comprised of experimental models that I've created, and I made all the flight plans. The traffic is so heavy at this airport that wierd things *do* tend to happen!
April 14, 200620 yr Glad you made it. April 15, 200620 yr LOL...Just be glad it wasn't a heavy hauler...I've never impacted another aircraft yet, but I'vecome close. Once was over Oklahoma where a 747 decidedto fly past my 12 oclock at about 500 ft away... I was in a lear, and heading due north. He was westbound, and nearlydown, if he had hit me...LOL.. Another time I was just goofing off doing touch and go's at KHOU on the 35/17 runway. I was ignoring ATC and just doing my thing..I took off on 17 and nearly got clipped by a Southwest737 landing on runway 4... I could actually hear him as he whooshed right behind me. But in that case, anywreck would have been totally my fault...I wasn't even listening on the tower freq... I was a bad boy, but thereare no tickets pulled in fs2004. LOL... So I often thumbmy nose at the tower, the FAA, and all concerned when I want to take a joyride... :)MK Mark Keith
