April 8, 200620 yr I realize there are many other aspects by which to compare planes like 747, 767, 777 etc. But I'd like to ask to set all those OTHER considerations aside for the time being and concentrate PURELY on the virtual cockpit.I was wondering if by any chance there is a general consensus as to which virtual cockpit looks the best among planes of this category? I am aware of 3 major players in the 'bigs' arena (in alphabetical order): Level-D, PMDG and PSS (am I missing someone important?) Which of them has the best looking VC?BTW - it probably is a matter of personal preferences and taste - but by 'good' virtual cockpit I mean something that would approach Real Air's products. I personally dislike photo-real cockpits and prefer 3D panels that have the 'rendered' look of Real Air planes along with enhanced clarity and 'cleanliness' that come with it.Failing one VC that clearly stands out from the crowd - is there one that looks closest to what I described above? Finally (I don't want to make this look like a post about EVERYTHING because I really want to concentrate on the big planes; but I will ask any way ;-) Is there a smaller passenger plane (a regional jet perhaps) that has this 'rendered' quality to its VC?Thanks,Michael
April 8, 200620 yr hands down the PMDG. almost every single button switch and knob is clickable. simply amazing. and the panels look outstanding with great refresh rates. the freighter is my personal favorite but it has some framerate issues right now which will be addressed in another patch I am sure
April 8, 200620 yr i presume you are talking about the PMDG 747 i dont fly that, i have the 737NG which is good, i also have the PSS777 which i dont find as crisp as the PMDG series. I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
April 8, 200620 yr if you are judging purly on eyecandy and emersion of a VC then CS757 wins, but for function, I'd say the LVD
April 8, 200620 yr >CS757 wins, but for function, I'd say the LVDPlease excuse my ignorance... Does LVD stand for Level-D?Thx,Michael
April 8, 200620 yr you cant do many things in the VC of the level d 767 although it does look great. also the refresh rate I could never get smooth enough
April 8, 200620 yr What can't you do in the VC of the LDS767? Just about everything is clickable albeit not in 3D.
April 8, 200620 yr Recently I have been really enjoying Flight 1's Super 80 VC. The VC is crisp and the night lighting is fantastic IMHO. Also it is great on framerates. PMDG 747 has an excellent VC as well.David

April 8, 200620 yr Look no further for a 'VC' than David Chester's VC-10.The VC view is as clear as the 2D view.David trades under the name of 'ADDICTIVE SIMULATIONS' a fair description of his work.Dave T. .........On the Devon Riviera and active 'FlightSim User's Group' member at http://www.flightsimgrpuk.free-online.co.uk/http://www.captainsim.com/user/dl/c130/c130_captain.gif Dave Taylor

April 8, 200620 yr HelloDavid Maltby's BAC 1-11 is very good, i also enjoy the Aerosim 1011 especially the night lighting.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/146762.jpg
April 8, 200620 yr Thanks Clay. That Matrox looks fantastic add-on: first time I've heard of it. I have TrackIR, and was looking at a 21 or 23" flat panel, but now I'm thinking maybe combine the two? Three 19" monitors (getting cheaper all the time) and TrackIR? i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
