I didn't want to buy PTA, bought it, hated it, love it now. Didn't want to buy the Q400, bought, hate... nah, loved it right away. Didn't want to buy CP, bought it, didn't work, sigh, works now, love it now. But boy, me and my wallet seriously hope we can resist that FSLabs 320...!!! Anyway, thanks to you and some others here for throwing so much good advice in my direction lately. As you know mate you’re always welcome. —————— If I rated PTA I would say it’s a must have. If I rated Chaseplane I would say I would not fly without it If I rated FSL A320 I would say without question the best aircraft I’ve ever bought. Now you know how great PTA & Chaseplane are now. So try and trust me when I say buy the damm plane David Murden. November 30, 20178 yr Well, I am as happy as a little kid. I bought a rather cheap numpad (15 euro) which is quite flat so I can rest my left hand on it without any problems. And I assigned 6 views to it so I can look at all the important places in the Q40i without having to raise my hand. To make it clear how I use it, here is a picture of it (because the lay out is slightly be different than your typical regular keyboard numpad): And here is how I use it: Numpad 7 = regular cockpit (ring finger) Numpad 4 + cockpit looking slighty down (for take off, landing) (ring finger or pinkie) Numpad 8 = overhead (middle finger) Numpad 9 = glareshield and screens (pointing finger) Numpad - = pedestal forward (FMS plus screens, mainly MFD 1) (pointing finger) Numpad Enter = pedestal aft (controls and ARCDU's) (thumb) I first had seperate views for controls and ARCDU's but then I had to stretch a finger to get to one of them and now I don't. As you can see I only have to move my pointing finger which isn't a problem: I can keep my hand still and look everywhere! While I am at it I also assigned the default top down view (F12) to Numpad Backspace. Loving it! (Lot cheaper than an Orbweaver too!) I also set the mouse look (with the scroll wheel pressed) to around 1.0 so I can quickly look around absolutely everywhere with the mouse. I am beginning to understand what David said that he doesn't use his TrackIR anymore LOL
November 30, 20178 yr Your making hard work for yourself J The view you set as Numpad 4 is a look/clance down. Now change that key bound to Numpad 7, yes thats right. Now when you press Numpad 7 it will switch between the two view. One of the best features of chaseplane is you can bind as many view as you like to one key Any views that you think are "linked" bind to one key. Like your Numpad 7 and 4. Also if you have views to look right set as many as you like all binded to one key. David Murden. November 30, 20178 yr Hi Folks, "One of the best features of chaseplane is you can bind as many view as you like to one key" - - - wholeheartedly concur with that... Regards, Scott

Each time you click the key it goes to the next view assigned? Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. November 30, 20178 yr Hi Gregg, Yep - I use a (4) position hat for just about all my CP views - PIC - CTR UP - CTR DOWN - PNF... Each of the positions has at least 2 or 3 additional views - respective to lateral position - assigned... Then I use my joystick trigger to return me to the default TrackIR normal flying view - for immediate access... When working with multiple aircraft it helps to keep things consistent... You need to hold down a [Shft] or [Alt] - I forget - on the CP interface so you can order the views as you want them to show up on the subsequent key press... LOL - I don’t know how I lived without CP... Regards, Scott

As Scott explained, you can assign one key to multiple presets. When I discovered this (by accident!) it was a game changer for me. In fact, I decided I wanted to make a video about it :). I've linked to my video at the point where I talk about it. It's only a minute or so - https://youtu.be/-ttoIcIXq0M?t=9m13s Neil Andrews. Fight or Flight - YouTube | Twitter

Just to be sure: a numpad doesn't give you EXTRA keys! Pressing the 8 on my new numpad does the same as pressing the 8 on my regular keyboard numpad! And I still had to delete all default P3D bindings to the numpad! It is all about convenience: I can now easily let my left hand rest on the numpad which I couldn't do with my regular keyboad numpad. Concerning using 1 key for more views: I know about the options (also discoverd it by accident) but I really want to reach all my main views with ONE key press. I am not a fan of cycling views. I thought about creating 'cycling' views for parts of the cockpit I don't look at that often but after changing the speed of my mouse there really is no need for that. I will however probably create some cycling views for external views. And btw I will also assign the GSX menu key to the new numpad. As it is now I can do EVERYTHING with my left hand on the numpad and my right hand on the mouse apart from taxi, take off and landing. I even have my TrackIR paused all the time now, although I didn't yet do a complete flight: I only got as far as taxi (having to learn all about GSX and so on). I have to say that dong the setup from C&D to taxi is a lot easier with CP and my numpad than it is with TrackIR...! It's a lot healthier for my neck too, I can assure you.
