November 30, 20178 yr Author Would using “system restore” to a time before windows update 1709 work? Has anyone tried this?
November 30, 20178 yr I believe so because that is pretty much what the recovery did. No promises though. Clay

Yes I rolled back to 1703 two days ago and all is back to normal on laptop. Very easy to roll back. It took less than a minute or two. Recommend go to the FSX/FSX-SE forum under "FSX-SE no longer compatible with Windows 10" and take a look at the discussion toward the end. December 15, 20178 yr Author Well I’m happy to say that after the latest win 10 update yesterday everything seems ok. I took a flight and clicked on any button I could find and nothing happened, except of course the function. No children errors!! Hope this latest update helps you all. Thanks for the conversation. Over and out (fingers crossed)
December 16, 20178 yr This seems to be good news and thanks for your post "dth". I have disabled the Windows Update function because of the problems many of us have been experiencing, that still flightsim in the "32bit" realm. I have been keeping watch on this forum to see if the latest MS update created further problems. I may wait several more days--if no further reports, then I may enable my Win 10 OS to receive MS updates. Again, thanks!
