Thanks,FMS, with VNAV A/P, true to life RTUs, GDI+ Glass, improved panel graphics, etc.:-)

I love flying GA planes and VFR but tubeliners are my specialty. I just had to say that. Anyway I have most of the Boeing payware add ons and if you know how to use the FMC and engine start up on one of them, it won't take you long to learn the others as they are very similar. An exeption to this are the older Boeings 707,727,742 which are very different an in my opinion harder to learn but not impossible. If you stick to one class of planes for awhile (Boeings in my case)it sticks better in your mind. Next I may takle the F1 ATR and Majestic Dash 8, Then the Airbuses. I have had these for some time but only took them out for a quick hand fly and never got serious with them. Too many add ons? You bet. But I will get around to all of them eventually.

>> ..except of course that time Avsim seduced me into buying the >> 744 - day after day...Yes it sure does. But I am resisting because I think that flying these big birds simply cannot be very realistic.I don't know much about real flying but I suppose the 744 crew consists of 3, maybe 4 people. If a real world pilot would be forced to fly it all alone, taking all the FO's burden, and maybe the navigator's too (if there is a navigator at all), and have to handle everything including atc communication, I think even an expert pilot would spill a lot of sweat. So, how can I - an amateur - do better if the aircraft model is as detailed as they say? Even if I use something like fs2crew, even if I have a friend sitting next to me, doing some mousework, still if I could do it like in the real world I would make a flight video and immediately go search for a job in aviation business. So, I stick to my 737 and I believe it's the best I can handle single-handed.Or... maybe I am wrong?

I can't believe I'm writing this.....but...When I had a virus Crash about 2 1/2 weeks ago, I was frustrated about having to reinstall FS. However, NOW, I'm so pleased about putting in what I really, really want to fly. I'm keeping it clean except for some real essentials (have to do with ActiveCamera, Active Sky weather, FS Genesis, UT, etc). My sim runs beautifully. It's smooth, and fun again. Too many addons not only waste your time, but affect the performance "Holy Grail" we all seek. I will really think about what I add to my FS9 folder. I very much look forward to FSX and the new computer I will buy in the "Holiday Season" when Microsoft releases. Too many addons really do infringe on enjoyment and performance of our hobby.ps. I can't believe how fast the sim loads now after the clean up.

>We are working on our CX Version 2.0 with FMS and a few other>fine features:-)Glad you're finally coming around. :-wave ricardo

great news, Ron!! Will this be an FSX addon or will it be out before?

Oh my are you ever :)You are right, one person cannot reproduce the work of two or three, but fs and all addons are designed with that in mind - you are presented PRIMARILY with the workload of the commander, and very convincingly so by the top addons. So if you are truly 'hardcore' at heart, and willing/able to invest the time learning, the 'big' birds are for you. They're eminently manageable once you learn them, and there's LOTS of us around to answer questions, not to mention all the info available searching the support forums. If not, by all means have fun with the 737 :) - it's too late for me now, I can never go back, but you can still save yourself :+ regards,Markhttp://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a319/mar.../sup_banner.jpgXPHomeSP2/FS9.1/3.2HT/1024mb/X700pro256

If you have the PMDG 737, and understand the FMS and the start up from cold and dark, the rest of the modern Boeings you can learn rather easily. Theres a lot of similarity in the procedures as I said before. I did a whole flight in the PSS777 from cold and dark to shutdown before I even looked at the manual. I simply applied what I had learned from the LDS763 an PMDG737/744. Anyway a single pilot could fly one of these planes if they had to in an emergency (like the copilot passed out), it would just be more work.

The speed at which the sim loads and the performance of the sim are two different things. Of course the more planes and sceneries you install the longer the sim takes to load but it doesn't necessarilly affect performance of the sim that much, at least not in my experience.
