December 30, 20178 yr I've had great success raising my FPS and eliminating blurries by moving to full 1920x1080P resolution, but now I can't see the top line of text with the speed etc. (and I "cheat" using that while flying). Is there a way to move both lines of text DOWN just one line in a .cfg file? Thanks, Steve
December 30, 20178 yr The short answer is yes, you can change what’s displayed, the color and positions left and right as well as what line the info displays on. Under the P3D config file under Display you will see: InfoUpperLeftTextColorUser=255,255,255 this is default red 255,0,0 will make it white a couple lines down: InfoUpperLeftBackgroundColor=0,0,0,0 this is no background 0,0,0,128 will give it a 50% transparent black background I find these two changes much easier to read Under TextInfo.1 TextInfo.2 and TextInfo.3 you can change what’s displayed and the order as well as the row. The numbers after the item say Airspeed=1,5 means it’s on the first row and the fifth item over. Just change the 1 to a 2 and it appears on the second row just make sure the second row items have unique placement numbers left to right. Another thing I did was to eliminate the TextInfo.2 and TextInfo.3 items by either deleting them or commenting them all out with / marks. This means only one display window will toggle on and off without having to go through 3 windows. I then put only what I want to see in TextInfo.1 and exactly where I want it displayed with the color change I mentioned earlier. Remember as always make a backup of the config file before editing and I use notepad++ to do all my editing I hope this helps Joe Joe (Southern California) System: I9-9900KS @5.1Ghz/ Corsair H115i / Gigabyte A-390 Master / EVGA RTX 2080 Ti FTW3 Hybrid w 11Gb / Trident 32Gb DDR4-3200 C14 / Evo 970 2Tb M.2 / Samsung 40inch TV 40ku6300 4K w/ Native 30 hz capability / Corsair AX850 PS / VKB Gunfighter Pro / Virpil MongoosT-50 Throttle / MFG Crosswind Pedals / LINDA, VoiceAttack, ChasePlane, AIG AI, MCE, FFTF, Pilot2ATC, HP Reverb G2
December 30, 20178 yr Hey, Joe. I thought that was the correct way to move text down one line, but when I changed my respective lines under TextInfo.1 from =1, x to =2, x, the text block still appeared at the top of the window. I may have done something wrong, but here's my config text, and this doesn't move the lines down. December 30, 20178 yr Moderator IIRC, they're relative entries - you must have a line 1 or your line 2 entry becomes line 1. Put something there that you don't need to see. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

One of these days I'm going to have to sit down and read the SDK. I've noticed that you and a lot of other people use Notepad++ for editing. I tried it once and it looked confusing and complex so I went back to default notepad. What is the benefit of Notepad++ for editing P3D files? More importantly will I mess files up by using the default windows Notepad? Vic Yea, that seems to be the case. Would be nice if there was a null variable to produces a blank line. Will need to research this.
