New KLAX scenery by Cloud9 !!!!

Recommended Posts

I have it. Flying around it with the Aerialfoundry F-18 which I do with most new sceneries. Looks great. Now I will take a flight to there with the PMDG 737 and see how it works. I can say already it is better than Simflyers as far as looks are concerned.

>I have it. Flying around it with the Aerialfoundry F-18 which>I do with most new sceneries. With an F-18???? Take it slow, otherwise you'd miss all the details at that speed...P.S.You can always try a "parade passage", with high nose-up attitude, gear down, landing lights on, full flaps/spoilers deployed, and a throttle setting so noisy that will scare everbody from Torrance to Malibu!Have fun :)

FANTASTIC SCENERY !!!!! :-)1) excellent photo/GMax combination2) the best runway textures ever3) very low impact on fps4) "Italian taste" : beautiful textures, lot of eyes candy, every smallest detail is present 5) very nice dynamic file (read the manual for optional install!)6) active Gate system automatically recognizes aircrafts.I love it.Give it a try (free and full trial), you won't regret it, really :-)David

Does the scenery trash the default approach system like some past Cloud 9 releases?Does the GPS still give correct approach procedures and transitions?Eye candy is one thing - and it HAS to be be much better than SimFlyers on FPS due to age and learning if nothing else. But another non-functional airport would be a real disappointment.

>Does the scenery trash the default approach system like some>past Cloud 9 releases? There is one scenery that HAD to override the default approaches, and it's EHAM. OF COURSE it had to, the real EHAM got a whole new runway after FS2004 was released and, on top of that, the numbering for the other runways has changed as well. With EHAM, no custom approaches for the new runways were provided and (funny enough), of all the EHAM users, nobody asked for approaches before, maybe most of EHAM users are flying with real ATC...If you have a suggestion about improvements, please report to Cloud9 forum, if it's doable, it will be included in an update. However, KLAX can't be affected by this issue, because nothing has been changed on the runway positions, ils and other navaids comparing to the default scenery, so all the approaches will work exactly like before.>Eye candy is one thing - and it HAS to be be much better than >SimFlyers on FPS due to age and learning if nothing else.Of course it is, and of course (like all the C9 products) it's both better visuall and fully working from an operational point of view. But don't take my word for it. Since, like all C9 products, it's available in a FULL TRIAL version, you can try it for yourself and form your idea, freely.

If you have a suggestion about improvements, please report to Cloud9 forum, if it's doable, it will be included in an update. It was suggested to Cloud9 both privately and publicly on their forums. Their official response is the same as FlyTampa, Simflyers and others It's a bug Microsoft designed into FS2004Which is a blatant LIE, or worse - extreme ingnorance of how FS2004 works. How to update or replace approaches has been well known and documented for over two years. Heck, even NL2000 has an update for the new runways with fully functional approaches for EHAM.It does require that the scenery designer understand the entire FS system and actually give a danged about putting out a good complete product.EHAM was a joke in my opinion, but I'll probably replace my SimFlyers with this scenery if it can be verified that they didn't mess up too badly. But maybe you are saying Cloud9 only designs scenery for people who have ATC addons or fly on-line with real ATC.Guess that leaves a lot of people out of the mix.

I am going to buy this product but I am very concerned about the necessity to install the demo before I buy. It looks like it will also install some sort of add on manager in to my system. Why can't I just buy the product and install it manually? I guess I will see in a few minutes how it works but the buy/install process doesn't look that appealing to me.
