Doesn't show up in the library. The readme uses a different file name and still doesn't show up in the library. Any help would be appreciated.

I got it at www.flightsim.comIt's still not quite right though. I was using a FS98 Tubro Jet file that seemed more realistic than the F-16. I have been told, that back then the engines had a low rumble sound and lots of black smoke.Anyone been able to get the flaps to come down in incruments? I either get no flap or full flap. This is one of the best aircraft to come down the pike for a long time and I really like flying it.Thanks again to the developersRegards,Ed

I made the same observation regarding the flaps not extending in increments a few messages ago in this thread. No one responded, so, it seems none or full flaps ahead.Looked for the sound file there too and nothing came up. Used both file names. Which turbo sound are you using?

Well, tonight's sound file is:f86snz.zip"F86 Sabre Soundpackage for FS2002 CFS2 By Aaron R. Swindle. SkysongSoundworks. Compiled for the historic sound of the slow spooling single engine aircraft. Heavy bass sound on interior exterior.Includes startup and shutdown sequence. All files are watermarkedand encoded for I.D."I am having so much fun flying the Sabre that I might have to get one of these:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/149363.jpghttp://www.badcataviation.com/f1adtoprduef.htmlRegards,Ed

I've tried both the F-16 sounds and the F-86 Swindel sounds. I like aspects of both sound packages especially the smaller size of the Swindel package. We must remember the F-16 is an axial flow engine and the F-86 is a centrifugal flow engine when speaking of the compressor configurations. The burner can arrangements are different also. These things can make a difference in the SWooosh sound.Right now I'm wondering if I can import the O2 mask breathing wav file into the F-86 sound package and make the appropriate sound cfg entries and have the best of both packages.Try intercepting the AI jet liners at night when you can see their lights. I like to do a Chinese pass, from behind under the belly and pull up in front of them to make the AI pilots get rid of their coffee.

I just wanted to say that for my personal use I was able to modify the F-86 Swindel sound package by adding the O2 breathing mask sounds and I added the canopy opening and closing sounds from the F-16 sounds.

Where did you get the canopy and the O2 sounds? I looked at the F-16 ones and didn't see them. Maybe I missed them with all those wav files. How did you add them? Thanks, regards, Bob.

Bod the name of the O2 breathing mask sounds in the F-16 package is ilt.wav This wave is active at the higher rpms and more noticeable at cruise. The canopy sound in the F-16 package is canopy.wav Just copy them into the F-86 sound folder. If you're going to copy them into Swindel's F-86 sound files just copy and paste the sound cfg entries. These are mine where I named the O2 breathing sounds [COMBUSTION.1.08]. Note you must link [COMBUSTION.1.08]to [COMBUSTION.1.07] by using the link=COMBUSTION.1.08 statement.[COMBUSTION.1.07]filename=xf863flags=0viewpoint=2vparams=0.000000,0.000000,0.999950,0.000000,1.000000,1000.000000link=COMBUSTION.1.08[COMBUSTION.1.08]filename=iltflags=0viewpoint=1rparams=0.973510,0.978723,1.000000,1.127660vparams=0.004415,58.510639,0.132450,60.638298,0.286976,59.574467,0.441501,64.893616,0.582781,59.574467,0.715232,55.319149,0.841060,60.638298,1.000000,72.340424These are my sound cfg entries for the canopy sounds added to the end of the sound cfg. Thanks. What about the Combustion 1.07 entry that's already there? Do we delete it and just add these changes? The cockpit opening makes a sound but the cockpit closing does not work. Any suggestions? Regards, Bob.

As a real-world pilot, It was obvious to me that the "all or nothing" flap setting on the F-86 was unrealistic and deprived the pilot of the needed lift/drag trade-off options on final. I've revised my cfg files as follows; F-86 (Hard Wing) 3 settings 10,30,45 degrees F-86A (Slats) 4 settings 0,10,30,45 degrees note: at the first 0 degree selection, the leading-edge slats deploy the proper 10 degrees. This whole change took less than 10 minutes. I'd be happy to provide the exact cfg file changes needed if anyone would like them. Just let me know.By the way, take a look at the fuel tank loads in the F-86A cfg file when you get a chance; Fuel Ctr 300, Left Main 200, Right Main 300.And even with full tanks It's never yawed to the right. Strange

Roger thatCan you post the flap config settings? This plane is really starting to rock!ThanksEd

Bob, The COMBUSTION 1.07 entry that is already there in Swindel's sound cfg must stay there and has to have link=COMBUSTION 1.08 added to it at the bottom so when you added the COMBUSTION 1.08 entry (the O2 breathing sound) will run when the engines are running. You will note that every COMBUSTION entry in Swindel's sound cfg has to link to the next COMBUSTION entry in sequence.I cut and pasted the canopy sound cfg entries directly from the F-16 sound cfg. The canopy opening and closing sounds work ok for me. Are you sure you used square brackets around the EXIT_OPEN and the EXIT_CLOSED ? Square brackets won't show up in these emails because they delete themselves and everything in between.Let me know if you still have questions or if everything is working ok.

I too would like to have the cfg file. Question though. How can the slats deploy to 10 degrees if the setting for flaps is set to 0 degrees? To me 0 is 0, unless the slats were always at 10 degrees. But that doesn't make sense either, especially at high speeds since they were developed due to the unstability of the plane at slower speeds caused by the swept wing design. On another thread, where another F86 is being developed, it states that the leading edge was not set manually, but was automatic, depending on the speed of the plane. Thanks
