PMDG and Airbus X extended missing aircraft sections.

Featured Replies

I’m using FSX not the steam version and have always had an issue either midnflight or on the ground where parts of the aircraft disappear. This is only with PMDG and Aerosoft Airbus add ons. Sometimes the fuselage is missing and you can only see engines, wings and gear when in external view. Other times you can see the fuselage but the cabin interior is exposed. Any ideas. What’s causing this?

You are using FSX (boxed version).  Did you also install Acceleration or did you install SP1 and then SP2.  This is caused if you have Acceleration or FSX Gold (which includes Acceleration) and you also install SP1 and/or SP2.  You should also make sure you have the parameter highmemfix=1 in the Graphics section of FSX.cfg.

Thanks for your reply Jim, I have FSX Deluxe edition boxed. I'm presuming I have downloaded SP1 and then SP2 but not sure how I can check this.

programs.jpgYou can also verify the installation of the SPs by looking in your Add/Remove programs section.

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!

Missing the line

HIGHMEMFIX=1

In the [GRAPHICS] section

Where about should I insert this line John? Anywhere in GRAPHICS?

Yes!  Sorry, the line should be right under D3D10=0

As far as I was aware , anywhere in the [GRAPHICS] section but most advise to put it at the top .

Tried putting it below D3D10=0 as 'charliearon' mentioned but this didn't work. Still got the same problem.

Did you absolutely verify that you have SP1 and SP2 installed?  I'm presuming I have downloaded SP1 and then SP2.  Don't assume or presume

Try reinstall fsx

That seems rather drastic!

That should always be a last resort option.

I’d start with a fresh cfg and flushed shader caches, disabling other addons first to try to narrow down the issue before doing a fresh install, especially if you have a lot of stuff installed.

I could only find SP2 installed but I thought this would override SP1. I'll try uninstalling sp2 then download and install sp1 and then sp2 just to be sure. I'll let you all know how I get on but thanks for the help!
