>Airliners:>> >>I can't see how anyone would choose CaptainSim's 727 over>DreamFleet's>>Do you have both? I would be interested in hearing from someone who would make a clinical explanation of both. I know even then... these are just how it feels to an individual.. its hard to exlain sometimes why one prefers 1 over another.MannyPS: BTW, I like CS727 very much for hand flying. And I don't have Dream fleet's 727 nor have I even tried it. And I was not making a comparison. I like CS727 by itself and in relation to all my other fsim aircrafts in general.I got the 727 long time ago... I got it and since I was not into airliners it went right back into the hanger. Because I finally got to fly the PMDG 747 FMC, I gave a second look to airliners and pulled it out of my attic. today.. its the one I fly the most. Cause I can tune an VOR frequency and ILS frequency like any GA. It goes faster than any GA... so I get to fly to different places realy qick... I fly the ILS and VOR approaches like GA and the landing is no cake walk. If I don;t have my act together it goes down south real fast....so I get the challenge factor. The Sound and the polluted smoke and dirty smoky airplane adds to that realism.. so all in all.. I like it very much.

I had both (uninstalled CS's version)... When both were installed I remember CS's 727 had problems with floating when full flaps were set (too much lift modeled with full flaps). It's common knowledge the problems with CS's 727 as it's been spoken about extensively in various FS forums (do a search). Much like the CS707, customers of the CS727 have been very upset an upgrade hasn't been released that finally addresses the FDE problems with this add-on.DreamFleet's version on the other hand has had the benefit Clayton D. (a real 727 pilot) and various other real world pilots to help design and vouch for their FDE. Some may not like the FDE (as is apparent here) but maybe realism isn't their bag. It' a known reality that some planes don

>As far as I'm concerned, if a flight model is capable of>perfectly nailing the numbers on the real things technical>specs - then its a perfect model!I really do have to disagree. There are models that hit the numbers, yet act like puppets connected to joystick/yoke strings. No sense of mass, dampening, drag, or power to weight. Roll and pitch respond to exact stick movements and larger aircraft seem no different than a smaller GA airplane. The sense of "feel" is a combination of movements we see on the screen combined with resistance from our joysticks centering spring. The percieved "feel" is farther defined by actual real life experience, that the brain imparts to the simulation of flight. There is no doubt, that the better and more experienced designers are able to program the proper reactions that make a simulated model behave as though you can feel STOL characteristics, balloning with flap application, drag, dampening, and so forth. And your correct; sounds just as sight, can make a difference. It's as fake as the car next to you pulling slightly ahead at a stop light, while you slam your brakes believing you're moving backwards. No different than a narrow road making you believe you're moving faster than on a six lane freeway, although the vehicles speed is exactly the same. It's all a mind game, that the best designers have mastered. L.Adamson

Carlos,Dillon, was merely explaining why he believes the DF 727 is the best flight model to fly, as per the title.I too, have both and Dillon is right, the CS727 just isn't in the same league, as the DF 727.Dave T. .........On the Devon Riviera and active 'FlightSim User's Group' member at http://www.flightsimgrpuk.free-online.co.uk/http://www.captainsim.com/user/dl/c130/c130_captain.gifhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg

Oh, I can't believe it! Not a SINGLE mention of the T37 Tweet! This latest version 1.04 is right up there with the DF727/RA Spit/MS B25!Man - this is one incredibly real aeroplane!

All this talk about the Captain Sim 727 and the Dreamfleet 727, and y'all forgot to mention Fraser Turner's excellent FDE for Erick Cantu's Vistaliners 727-200!! :-hah Fraser Turner, a.k.a. Frit, has also made excellent FDEs and XML model coding for the SGA models. My favorite SGA model is the MD-90, which is a very sweet jet to fly with a realistic feel of power from the powerful IAE V2500 engines. Basically, Erick Cantu's models and Frit's FDEs go together like a chocolate chip cookie and a glass of milk. :)On the other hand, why is it that I barely see any of you guys mention any kind of ultralight (a.k.a. microlight) type aircraft with regards to best FDE for an ultralight aircraft? It's as if me and John Cillis are the only ultralight lovers around here, LOL!! :-lol John could elaborate on how good Bill Lyon's Challenger ultralight FDE is, because I still didn't fly that ultralight, while I've seen a number of threads by John Cillis with screenshots of Bill Lyon's Challenger in the Screenshots Forum. Personally, I really love the Aerolite 103 from Flightsim Models, as it has a very fun and realistic VC as well as a very sweet and stable FDE.Regards,
