Hey Guys,

I just noticed. I occasionally go to check for updates thru OC, however today when I opened my OC and when I tried to select any product it shows nothing....like I have none and I own all....No liveries, no manuals....nothing.

Any idea? What I am missing?

Thanks

P.S. When I go to P3D and choose the vehicle, everything is there, so clearly I have them, but what happened with product in OC? I have no idea.

What antivirus are you running?

Nothing....even when I was running I always had my OC running normally, no I don't have them....But clearly they are present in P3D. I am flying them almost every day. So, strange.

What sim are you running? If P3D, are you using a migration tool? Have you run a registry cleaner recently?

No, I never used to launch OC with admin...but every time was ok and they were present, before last night....I could try that when I came home. I launch everything else with admin. but not OC. I have launched Product update, spins and reports that there are no updates....which is correct.

No, I have not used any registry cleaner, using P3D 4V2. I checked again last night, I have them all in P3D and all are functional and all of them are with my liveries etc. As a matter a fact I finished yesterday one 5 HR flight with NGX. This is all a bit strange. When I open OC, on the Home screen when I choose product I have Icon that I can buy the product .

You sure you've selected P3DV4 and not the P3DV3 version in the list? ...or perhaps the FSX version in the list?

As a matter of fact I selected them all just to see what's happening.....I selected even FSX SE, since I still have them somewhere and haven't deleted them.

Only thing I've done, about three weeks ago I un-installed Steam since I am not using it anymore. I switched to P3D somewhere in November and re-purchased them all, set up all my liveries and did all my updates. OC was working well about two weeks ago Kyle. I checked to see if I am up to date.

I am a bit ahead...P3D V4.1 is version.

Right, but we haven't changed the OC code in that time, so something on your machine has changed. Either that, or it is also common that people screw up and select the wrong one.

I get that it's frustrating, but I have a line of questioning, and I check certain things for a reason. I know it usually seems like your issue is unique, but there are usually commonalities between the things people run into. You'd be surprised at how many people simply click on the wrong thing.

Either way, we haven't changed the OC in the time period you're referencing, and FSX:SE and P3D don't interact to cause what you're seeing - that is, unless you're using a migration tool.

Thanks Kyle, I got that. And as I said I didn't wanted to complicate once I switched to P3D, no migration tools of any kind. Flying with FSX for so many years I know how "sensitive" everything could be, that's why decided to install one more SSD for P3D, get all new add-ons (costly of course) and to have everything nice and clean. Week ago for the first time and only once I had issue with EZCA, haven't lost my flight but that was the first thing that happened to me ever since the switch. I went to check Event Viewer and on my surprise I haven't had one single error since I switched in November. Knowing Windows and issues that is really surprise.

Now, since I have this problem, I mean everything is working but now I am not able to update or to install new livery, can I install only OC? Is there any possibility to do that? If not, what would be the next step?

Thanks

You can only install liveries and updates through the OC, yes, but the issue isn't the OC. The issue is the OC's ability to see that you have a sim installed. If it's prompting you to buy something, it's because it cannot see your sim location for some reason. Again, we haven't changed code, so you either changed something on your comp, or something was changed for you.

The issue goes deeper than the OC, and I suggest getting that sorted out.

Hmmm, funny I haven't made any changes in the system except regular updates, Windows, NVIDIA, FSDT, BIOS....but who knows what might happen in that process.

I assume that if I need to get everything and unable to find the problem, complete PMDG re-installation would be required?

No. Reinstalls never really fix anything, and usually just waste time, while occasionally making things worse.

The OC is an entirely separate program, so I can say with absolute certainty that uninstalling the planes would be a complete, absolute, entire waste of time.

Thanks Kyle. While I absolutely agree with you in regards to re-installation I am not sure where to get just OC?  I just checked my Control Panel under programs and no PMDG product is listed! None...As far as I remember I had them there?! I turned P3D loaded 747 and everything is normal. Only error that mwessage which I am getting with 747 that cannot find product version. I had that from get go but I was flying regularly. With 777 or NGX all normal. Is something changed from FSX to P3D versions? I checked all other files, from USERS, Program Files to LM folder, everything is in order.

Your help is greatly appreciated....

Just go to the OC's directory (under program files), delete everything except the OC_updater.exe and run that OC_updater.exe. That essentially reinstalls it, but I don't really recommend it (EDIT: for this specific scenario, at this moment).
