MD80 Routes?

Featured Replies

Looking for info on routes flown by the  MD80 when it was operational.

USA , Europe & rest of world.

But it still is operational? Sure there aren't as many still in the skies, but American and Delta both continue to operate a pretty significant number of MD-80 family aircraft. Check out Delta MD-88 routes in and out of Atlanta. They fly a ton of them, and the Maddog X will be shipping with a Delta livery when it releases tomorrow.

In Europe we had some flying with Meridiana, departing from Olbia to some Italian cities. But they retired the last one in January.

You have 1 MD-83 flying with DAT, you can follow their charters on Flightradar.com https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/oy-rue

Bulgarian Air Charter was using MDs. Some times subcharter routes. I think in winter are stored but maybe will return in summer season.

That's a valid question actually, as this plane deserves a lot of flights to enjoy it and for sure I won't be only doing Delta and American flights. I would like to find some historical flight schedules of European operators like SAS, Meridiana or Spanair for example. If anyone has a know how to find such flight schedules I'd be glad to know.

Here's some: http://www.departedflights.com/

A little time spent with Google should nab you some other good ones.  That first link is pretty good though.  For example, with just a tad of looking through it, I found effective Oct. 1, 1996 that Meridiana flew the MD80 as flight 1107 and 1105 Between Milan Malpensa and Rome.  Flight 1107 departed at 1535 and landed at 1700.  Looks like it was daily service Mon-Fri, and didn't fly on Sat. Sun.  Flight 1105 did seem to cover the weekends though, departing at 2055 and arriving at 2200.  It flew this every day but Friday's.

Hope this helps!

In the US, Delta Airliners is the largest user of the MD-80. In fact, I believe Delta is the largest user of the MD-80 in the world today.  You can find many MD-80 routes on Flight Aware - out of Atlanta.

Best wishes.

EDIT: I made a new thread to share organized results for European operators that I have found so far. I will keep it updated so its easy to refer to.
