  1. I might be a little late for you flight, but there is a way to reset the error. To the right of the pressurization panel, there is a button called "ALT HORN CUTOUT". Press that, and the warning sound should go away.
  2. I am using Opus for my weather, to match up with PFPX. This does seem like a possible scenario, given the tutorial flight was done with clear weather. However, I have flown many hours with the NGX using my weather engine, problem free. I will try to fly a clear weather flight and see what happens though. Thank you for your suggestion.
  3. Hi everyone I just bought the 777, but there is one issue I have had on most of my flights. This did not happen when I flew the tutorial flight, but every flight thereafter. During the climb (above 10000 feet) and cruise portion of my flight, my 777 will randomly over speed. As an example, I was flying from VECC-OMDB, and I was climbing through 14 000 feet. I was flying at 308 knots, and the red lines on the airspeed indicator were at about 325 knots. Everything was going well until suddenly, the speed popped up to 400 knots, triggering the over speed alarm, and disconnecting the autopilot. Then, just as the situation occurred, it corrected itself. This usually happens multiple times throughout my flight, and usually, during the cruise, the situation doesn't correct myself as it does during climb. I always derate my takeoffs with an assumed temperature, or a fixed derate, if not, both. I don't understand why I am having this issue, I fly my routes just like I flew the tutorial flight, but the issue still persists. I have conducted a forum search, but I got no results, however, I may have overlooked something, if there is a previous topic on this issue, I apologize, and would appreciate if I could get a link to that topic. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. I believe for engine start, you do not have to wait for a specific N2 percentage. As soon as you flick the starter, you can set the fuel control switch to run. The automation of the aircraft will take care of the rest.
  5. Can you please give post the authors name? At this time, I'm finding multiple books with a similar title. Thanks.
  6. Currently my longest flight was from PGUM - PHNL. It was just short of 7 hours in length.
  7. Make a few landings and experiment by retarding the throttles at different altitudes, and find something that works for you. I personally retard the throttles and flare at 30 feet, but you can make your own judgement.
  8. Does the same happen if you only load up the 600? From my experience, PMDG aircraft don't load very well on top of each other. I would recommend shutting down FSX (Ctrl+C) before loading another aircraft. This way FSX won't go wonky when choosing another aircraft.
  9. No, the NGX installer is updated every time a new service pack is released, so you do not have to worry about installing SP1c, as long as you purchased it after the update was released.
  10. I was watching the Air Canada A319 ETOPS video earlier, and at one point the check pilot stated that in Europe aircraft have to have VHF radios with 3 decimal places, unlike in North America, where airlines usually operate with 2 decimal place VHF's. The NGX has a standard 2 decimal place VHF radios, but is there an option to switch them for 3 decimal place VHF's, like how you can switch the PFD and ND to the classic six pack? And if not, could it be a possible implementation for SP2?
  11. Nice Video, I really wish I could afford that EFIS/MCP. By the way, what is the name of that program that you are running on your second monitor?
  12. The latest service pack from PMDG for the NGX is SP1c. You can check which version you have from the FMC, I believe you would have to go into PMDG Options from the menu and select and select credits, about or something along those lines (I'm not 100% sure, but you should be able to figure it out easily.) If you don't have SP1c installed, you can download it from PMDG's website. http://precisionmanuals.com/pages/downloads/updates.html
  13. To install the livery, you have to use the livery manager that is supplied with the NGX. If you don't know where it is just search "Livery Manager" in the windows start menu. Make sure to run as administrator if you are using Windows Vista/7. Than, click on add livery, and locate your .ptp file, and click open. Then your livery should be installed.
  14. I recently had got a new hard drive, and I was able to re-install the NGX with no problems at all, I guess there could be a limit on the number of activation's that the NGX has, but in the FSX uninstall guide that PMDG has posted on their website, it says that if you uninstall the NGX, it resets the activation, so that you don't loose one, so before you install it on your new hard drive, make sure that you uninstall it from your old one.
  15. My hard drive was recently formatted because my computer had to be repaired. I then installed FSX and my NGX and 747X. Around sometime last week, I learnt that installing FSX out of the original x86 folder was better than using the default area. I would like to uninstall FSX ( and all my addons) and re install it on a path like C:\FSX but I have already used up 2 activation's on both products and I am not sure if I would be able to activate both the aircraft after I'm finished re-installing FSX.
  16. I think it's just a matter of personal taste. Some people like to be realistic about it and on the routes they like to fly the most, they will only load up liveries that actually fly the route in real life. Personally, I'm not that realistic and I'll fly with a Westjet Livery in Europe, and a Ryan Air livery in North America just for fun. Again, it's just personal preference.
  17. Thanks for your prompt response, but unfortunately, the string you sent me did not work either. I did recently change my username on my computer from Temp to my Actual name, and the file is inside the User/Temp folder. Could this be the cause of my problem?
  18. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I have tried searching for a solution, and I just can't find one. I use the External FPS Limiter 0.2 to limit my FPS to 30. It used to work without fail earlier, but I found that 30 was a little overkill, so I decided to change it to 25. When I open the new .bat file, the cmd window opens for one second and then closes, and FSX does not open. Here are the contents of the batch file: start C:\"Users\Temp\Desktop\FSX Stuff\"FPS_Limiter.exe /r:D3D9 /f:30 /x:OFF /l:OFF "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe (The location of the FPS Limiter is on my desktop in a folder called FSX Stuff)
  19. I had to re install FSX and the ngx about a week ago after my hard drive was formatted. After I re-installed the aircraft, I've been having some problems with the FMC. 1.) When I try to save a route (this happens before and after executing the route), the Execute button highlights, but when I press it, nothing happens, and I'm forced to press the erase LSK key to continue my flight planning. 2.) The options I set don't save. Earlier, for every liver I chose, I could change the options, displays and the pause at top of decent settings to my liking from the FMC, and the next time I loaded the aircraft with the same livery, my changes were saved. Now, the changes I make are no longer saved. These are mostly inconveniences, but I'd rather have them solved instead of having to spend time before a flight entering a route I fly often or changing the options of that aircraft.
  20. I want to uninstall FSX from my computer and then re-install it again, at a different location. When I go into the programs and features under the control panel, there is no FSX, and if I try to insert disk one, I don't get a message asking if I want to repair or remove the files, instead I just get an option to install the game again. Any help I could get would be appreciated.
  21. Hi all, Before I start, I would like to apologize if this has been addressed in the past in the forums. So, my computer just came back from repairs, but unfortunately, they had to format the entire hard drive to get the job done. I do have a back up of the NGX installer on an external hard drive, and I've only activated the product once. Is it possible if I can use the same installer from PMDG, and then use the same activation key as before, or do I have to buy the extended download service?
  22. As stated above, download the UIAutomationCore.dll, but make sure it is the Windows Vista version (I'm assuming you are running windows 7.) Then, place the file in your fsx base folder and replace the old one (after backing it up). This solved the problem for me, but if you want additional performance improvements try tweaking your fsx.cfg file from http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html, using this site increased my frames by around 7fps, not much, but it's still helpful.
  23. I like to use simroutes.com, it's free, recommends a sid and star and you can save the flightplan in PMDG format, and put it in your flightplans folder, then you can load the route into the FMC via the COROUTE function.
  24. For me, the conversations between ATC and the pilots and pilot to pilot are way too soft to hear, does anyone know how to adjust the volume of the communications?
  25. Would my laptop run the 777: Intel 2nd Generation i5 (2.3 GHz) 6 GB RAM Radeon 6490M graphics card Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Arzaan Khairulla
