Boeing manager on the 777 program for ETOPS operations, and led the battle with Airbus who attemped to derail the 777 success by fighting against changes to existing ETOPS procedures. Lots of insight into the bird itself too, and how they built reliability and maintainability into it to allow ETOPS certification on delivery vs two years of operations (for ETOPS-180). Writing wasn't the best but the story is great. Spoiler Alert: Airbus fans will not like this book.

I like the book" Boeing Vs Airbus. I like that book since its very neutral and it brings up the both good and bad in each company, it did go into detail on how Boeing shot itself in the foot with jetBlue, they were inches from being a major 737 customer until Boeing alienated them (Boeing even tried to discount the 737 below the A320 price as a last resort but the damage was done). At the same time the book went into detail on how Airbus kinda screwed up with the A340 program.

I start to read it in amazon and i couldn't stop, so i put in the basket.

Mate, there was a topic named "Let the previews begin" last July - we've had no proper screenshots since. I wouldn't expect much! I don't think they intend on showing much... We won't even know when it's in beta lol. Could be in final stages next week for all we know (which is little!).

Yes indeed "Let the previews begin" last July"... but since then, no previews at all.. except the 2 images from the virtual cockpit ! I don't really know what to expect in fact. I remember that for the NGX we had plenty of nice previews, almost 1 time a week..

Did you read "How Boeing Defied the Airbus Challenge" can you tell me if it makes a good integration on the whole story.

Personally i recommend :

"Airliner Tech Series, vol.2 Boeing 777 by Jim Upton" published 1998.

A lot of rare photos and 102 pages of interesting facts about design, testing and certification process.
