It might run ok if you lower you settings, FSX needs higher CPU clock to run smooth.

If you can run the NGX then the T7 will be no problem, it might run even better.

How about this?

3rd gen Intel i5 2.5 ghz to 3.10ghz speed

6 GB RAM (soon to become 8)

ATI Radeon Hd 7730M graphics card

having an i7 would be better because I do have a 3 gig card it is the pricessor that matters more in FSX.

An i5 is fine, even the 2nd generation. That's what I use for the ngx and I have no frame rate problems. From what has been said on this forum it would seem that the 777 is going to be even more frame rate friendly :). I also run 6gb ram and a far worse video card, yet still everything runs fine.

How fast are your frame rates and what are your graphics settings?

I just checked and was getting around 15 to 20fps on approach and landing into Paris (and it seemed slower than usual so I think that's with something going on in the background). That was with the ngx, but I can also run the JS4100 without problems. I have resolution set at 1366x768, bilinear filtering, anti aliasing off and bloom off. Global texture resolution is very high, I have aircraft shadows on the ground turned off, and my scenery silders are all set around the middle (except for the mesh and texture resolutions, which are low, and water which is at high 2x). For traffic I use UT2, turned up to 100%. I also run EZdok Camera, Rex Essential (all on full), FS2 crew, and UTX europe (with moving traffic and night lighting off). So my poor processor has a lot on its plate if i'm honest!

My video card is a GeForce 410m, which is only a bit better than the integrated graphics. And my processor is the i5-2430m at 2.4ghz.

Hope that helps :)

I run NGX okay with a Laptop (See my specs on the left).

Great choice going with ASUS! With an addon airport I get 15-20FPS, that's UK2000 EGLL. But without an addon I can get 20-30 on the ground in the VC. Airborne, normally around 25 average. The exterior and wing views I'm getting 40-50!

I do not use REX or anything of that nature. I've got my settings fairly high, some people helped me with Nvidia Inspector (which I recommend!). I based my settings around more detail around the Aircraft & Flying and less on buildings. Makes sense right?

Anything with Nvidia video Card will run better, higher , smoother FPS.

I'm running the NGX on a 2012 11" MacBook Air Core i5 with HD4000 integrated graphics (no dedicated graphics card).

The MacBook Air is basically a souped up netbook, but in my view it's the best laptop on the market.

Using Windows 8 RTM (through Bootcamp).

The sliders need to be down, but it's more than flyable.

And you need to adjust your view position because in the 2D cockpit you seem to be looking down on the runway. VC is fine though.

You can get a legal version of Windows 8 RTM through a Technet or MSDN subscription.

I believe MS is also now offering a 90 day demo to the public.

Win 8 is not bad. After a few hours it grows on you.

(And Windows 8 works perfectly on any Mac ^_^ )

I know, lol. What I meant was that a lot of people think that when you buy a Mac you get a Windows license... Not true. So, I found it funny that you're using the public preview on a Mac. LOL.

Btw, Windows 8 sucks.
