February 25, 20188 yr Are these compatible with Orbx? I know previously they were not. Would jump on these if they’ve fixed that. James

They use their own autogen file definitions and ORBX has theirs. P3D doesn't have a native way to deal with this but you can grab a tool that merges the definitions called "Autogen Configuration Merger" and that solves the issue. Correct me if I'm wrong though, maybe this has changed with P3D v4...

Correct me if I'm wrong though, maybe this has changed with P3D v4... You’re right — sorry for not having been more precise. What I meant was that Orbx simply includes most other autogen definitions in their own to avoid this problem (eg Aerosoft, Earth Simulations, etc.). Not sure why they don’t include FranceVFR. Maybe a permissions issue? I tried fiddling with that merge tool a few years back and had all kinds of headaches with it. Oh well. My loss, I know. Too bad the developers can’t work it out between them. James
February 26, 20188 yr I picked up Languedoc Roussillon for P3Dv4 at the weekend. Autogen Configuration Manager solved my problem with not being able to have Orbx and France VFR autogen running side by side. I followed the instructions in this post and they seemed to work for me. Once I'd completed these steps and the config tool restarted P3D whilst it merged autogen definitions, a quick test showed I had autogen in both the FTX England and Languedoc Roussillon areas (in the same sim session). Initial thoughts on Languedoc Roussillon are positive. I'm not a huge fan of photo scenery but like how the huge number of buildings in the France VFR products really seem to bring the area to life. I'm thinking of picking up their Paris product but that doesn't seem to be in the sale. Dominic
February 27, 20188 yr I had all of the available France VFR products for FS9 and loved them as their regional scenery was arguably the best ever produced for that platform. Indeed even though I am not French, I would to do a lot of my low level FS9 VFR flying in France simply because the scenery was so good. I did not however go down the pathway of buying them for FSX firstly because Orbx became available and secondly because they are quite expensive. Even at sale prices buying all the currently available France VFR regional scenery areas would involve a fairly considerable financial outlay although if I was French or had a special interest in France I would most likely get them. I do however have most of the available France VFR regional airports installed and, although they not quite up there in the top league of airport developers, they are still very good and may be worth considering if they are available at sale prices. February 27, 20188 yr I am tempted to take advantage of this to get the Basse Normandie 3D package (so that I can approach the Channel Islands over detailed scenery, rather than default rubbish). The one question I have would be.....will there be a significant discount for existing users when the product is upgraded to be P3D v4 compatible? I currently use P3D v3.4. March 28, 20188 yr France VFR provides good scenery but they didn't upgrade it (or so slowly)... It's shame when we look at other editors whom upgrade to V4 for free. Not professionnal at all :( pass your way... Edited March 28, 20188 yr by Virtual Flight Realm
