Aerosoft MAP Frankfurt

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I've been looking into acquiring Aerosoft's MAP Frankfurt Professional, now that it's on sale. From the time of release, I vaguely remember people being not too happy with it, though, so I was wondering what the current state of opinions is surrounding this addon? My own impression is that it's lagging a little bit behind with other sceneries of this day and age, and especially the ground textures appear a little unrealistic to me (looks like the same tile texture is used throughout the entire airport...?). But yeah, any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Benjamin

IMO AS EDDF Pro is pretty good  in most aspects. Even with ORBX GES when approaching with a PMDG bird the performance is still acceptable. But this is for sure hardware dependent.

One of the best Aerosoft in my opinion and a must if you are a Europe flyer

That's great to hear! Which makes me curious about Zurich. What's the opinion on that one? I've always greatly enjoyed FSDT Zurich, and while the overall texture resolution is clearly dated, there are aspects of it that strike me as looking better than the Aerosoft version. For example, I like the FSDT's use of the ground textures for the runways and aprons and such. I also remember some concerns with FPS in the Aerosoft version. What do you all think? Is FSDT still worth it, or is Aerosoft clearly superior?

Zurich, Heathrow, and Frankfurt are done well. I like UK200's Manchester over Aerosoft. Minor nitpicking. SODE for dual jetways I think is a standard today and they do not have it.

Edited by Boeing or not going

AS PANC (incl.Lake Hood SPB and Strip) is a beauty as well ...

Hey all, thanks for the additional comments. I ended up not going for Zurich. I have FSDT's rendition and while perhaps outdated in some areas (?), it allows me to save some money ;)

I got Anchorage a while ago and it's indeed very nice! I got the upgrade price, too, so it was a fairly cheap purchase.
