Nicest Helicopter to get

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, is there anyone out there that can recommend the best helicopter available? I am looking for something with a really nice, HIGH QUALITY, functional VC. Freeware or payware. Am I wasting my time? Thanks again.

Thank you so much Manny. I just got the itch to fly a helicopter once again. Breaks up the same old stuff now and then. I will get all three models. I am using the bell b206bIII now, with the real deal sound pack...pretty nice besides the default gauges, but I like to think I can have my cake and eat it too. ;) Talk to you soon. Thanks again.

Ohho they even have Blue Thunder.Rhett

There are some brilliant choppers on Hovercontrol and here on Avsim. Awesome talent from those who created them!I really want to learn how to hover in FS9...I can never do it...and end up wanting to throw up as the screen spins round and round and an unfortunate fir tree gets pranged as I plop down with a thump :(

Hey Nevin, one thing that can, and will help is turn down the realism setting. Makes a huge difference. Then as you master the hover, gradually turn it back up alittle. I don't think FS9's realism engine is real acurate from what I have read, so I would keep it set more to the left while using helicopters. Good luck.

Yes, what moss1 said. I can hover a helo in FS9, if I turn the realism down.Speaking of vertical flight, lately I've been flying Kaz Ito's Yak-38 'Forger' vertical-takeoff/landing jet. I modded the aircraft.cfg a little and I have it doing ok. But it's not as realistic feeling as the FS9 helicopters are.Rhett

My choices are the Hovercontrol 412 by Jordan Moore as a step up from the default Bell 206 and/or the Robinson 22 then the DODO Realstart 206 and, if you are still enthusiastic, go for the Advanced DODO 206. Gary
