Mine was working fine when I shut off the computer last night.  Today, no go.

Ken do you mean you clicked on the icon to start P3d and it just showed the splash screen and didn't go any farther????

Yes,  I followed all the instructions regarding xml files.   Something is obviously causing problems.  I'll wait until the addons catch up.

I am currently doing a complete new installation using the default P3D suggested directory so there should be NO addons  interfering with the installation. We will see what happens

Ok something is not right. I downloaded the complete P3D ver 4.3 from LM site. No trouble with download or extracting all the files to a directory on my computer. Ran the .exe file as administrator and a completely new installation directory. Installation was successful, no errors. Clicked on the P3d icon to start the program. It immediately went to the activation screen. Did the activation on line and all successful, after activation it reverted back to the splash screen with nothing further happening. Something is seriously wrong here but I am at my whits end trying to figure what or why it won't run. I hope there are more suggestions out therThanks

It would seem that many of us are having this issue.  That is why I decided to revert back and wait for the issues to be worked out with addons.   Let me know if you have success.  Good luck.

Nelson - uninstall P3D completely.  Reinstall 4.3 but during the reinstall rename the install directory something slightly different than the default and let the installation complete.  Boot up P3D - it should work now.

Ken what I don't understand is with a completely new installation there should be no problems with addon because there not any. It should be like P3D was never installed on your computer. Am I correct here???

If your still having problems completely uninstall P3D V4.3, delete these folders C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin and C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin, then reinstall P3D V4.3 and all should be working, this is what I had to do, wouldn't work for me otherwise.

Edit, when you uninstall P3D if it is on a different drive to the OS, these folders do not get removed by uninstalling P3D.

Thanks Mike I have tried that several times, the last being just a few minutes ago, see above. The original directory used was C:\ P3dV4. Will try what Marc suggested and uninstall and delete suggested files.

Your user account appears to have access issues.  Make sure to run the installer with elevated privileges but you want to have administrative privileges on your user account.

Check to see if you have deleted C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 folder before trying to install, forgot to mention that folder, other than that, I haven't a clue.

I had the exact same issue, even after two full uninstall/re-install cycles. Running the delete-generated-files batch file in the P3D installation directory fixed it for me. I can't remember the exact filename at the moment...
