P3D VER 4.3 wont start

Featured Replies

I have updated the client, content and scenery. When I click on the P3D icon to start the program I get the P3D screen showing but the little circle just keep turning and the program just doesn't start. Anyone have any ideas. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

I am at a loss. I have tried the client installation and also the full installation and I cannot get past the splash screen at startup. It just sits there and does nothing and I have waited up to 20 mins and it shouldn't take that long. I have tried the suggestions by Simbol and it didn't have any affect. Anyone have any other ideas. This is the first time I have ever had a problem starting P3D of any version. Thanks in advance

Clear the shader cache and delete the scenery.cfg file and try again.

I had a similar problem; deleting the scenery.cfg file helped for me.

A long shot. But just check if any add ons are waiting to be enabled? Move your mouse over the p3d icon and see if there are any pop-ups waiting to be accepted.

That worked for me too.

This was posted by Simbol in the release thread and helped me and some others who had the same problem.

You can:

  1. Open your documents folder \ Prepard 3D\
  2. Make a backup of all add-on's inside.
  3. Remove all the Add-on's.XML files.
  4. Go to Local Disk (C:) ► ProgramData ► Lockheed Martin ► Prepar3D v4
  5. Make a backup of  exe.xml and dll.xml
  6. Delete exe.xml and dll.xml
  7. Got to Local Disk C:\Users\AppData\.....\Roaming\L-M\Prepar3D v4
  8. Check if there is any exe.xml and dll.xml, if there is make a backup of these and remove them.
  9. Launch P3D again.

If it works, you then start enabling each Add-on one by one until you find the culprit.

S.

If it works give thanks to him (simbol), I´m just the messenger

Ok thanks for all the suggestions. Unfortunately the same problem exsists. Simbol followed your directions to the letter and it is still the same. Tell me how long after you click on the icon to start P3D should you see something happening?? I have deleted the scenery.cfg file and the shader cashe as directed. Any other ideas???

Thanks

I takes about 2 or 3 minutes (on an SSD) to initialise.

If you have a scenery database prompt ,then that's a good sign.

It depends of the number of your add-on's but after deisabling everything it takes seconds and maximum 5 minutes.

Do you use FSL A320? If yes, uninstall A320.

I had the same issue.  Nothing corrected the issue.  I reverted back to 4.2.
