July 16, 200619 yr Hey everyone, I have been thinking of getting a couple of new airports, but which ones are less impacting with performance. I already love Fly Tampa Stuff. This is between Cloud9 and Imagine Sim products. Unless there are any others you can suggest, that I don't know about yet. Thanks for your input.
July 16, 200619 yr Moderator Jeff,I just purchased my first Cloud9 scenery KDCA and I'm in awe!!! A fantastic rendition, lots of detail and incredibly easy on FPS and last but not least one more reason to fly the river visual rwy 19 :-)You can download the trial version which can be used for 7 minutes (I believe) fully functional though.I haven't purchased any of the Imagine Sim products (I know this is not very objective but the screenshots and odd green textures have prevented me from purchasing any of their add-ons) so I don't know how the quality compares to Cloud9 and FlyTampa products. July 16, 200619 yr Thanks guys. Yep, the cloud9 stuff looks nice. I will most likely get one of them soon. I am trying to close the gap between the New England area and Florida in travel time between add on airports I have. On the West Coast as well I have my eye on Fly Tampa KSAN and KSFO. KLAX by Cloud9 too. Never ends, does it....:-)
July 16, 200619 yr Flightzone Rhode Island scenery--my first commercial scenery purchase. They're so good, Dreamfleet bought them or is now partnering with them. You won't be sorry.
July 16, 200619 yr Hey rightseat, I forgot to mention that one, as I have owned it since the release. I fly this area alot for short the hops, with a stop now and then at KBOS on my way to Portland.
July 16, 200619 yr Don't forget the the great work of feeware developers. George Grimshaw's KBOS (bostonv2.zip) is just as good as any payware sceneries I have. Check out this site http://walhalla.mine.nu/fs2004.php, it lists ALL the freeware sceneries available and updates it weekly. As for payware developers, there all quite good but my favorite is Fly Tampa. They are very detailed.Dave FisherCYYZP4 Prescott 3.2e 478p 800mhz 1mg CPUP4P800SE Asus Motherboard1.5 gig PC3200 DDR RAM 400MHZGeforce Ti 4200/128Maxtor 80 Gig ATA 133 HD x2WDC WD800 80 Gig HDhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpghttp://fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpghttp://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
July 17, 200619 yr Most of SimFlyers are outdated compared to the standards of the other competition in this thread, but KPHX, Pheonix Sky Harbor is an exception in my opinion and worthy at least of consideration.Happy flying and good luck:RTH
July 17, 200619 yr Author If you are into Europe the 2005+ editions from the Italian Scenery Design Project freeware stored here in the libs is very nice. The Rome airports are a lot like the Mega varieties. Search under ISD in the 2004 scenery libs. Their site is under construction but you can get pix at www.isdproject.com.I've got the Aerosoft Mega-Frankfurt, All GAPs except #2, both French, both Spanish, both Scandanavians, and I hunted down a copy of the Ballearics. I just like the scenery variation that occurs in relatively short legs of a couple of hours (in a jet, even a turbo-prop).
