Looking for Avatars - sitting down

Hello @ll,

with the latest Lorby freeware it is possible to attach simobjects anywhere on your aircraft. And with P3D V4.2 it is even possible to attach them inside of the VC model. So for the first time in the history of this platform it is possible to have a co pilot / first officer in every aircraft that you fly.

But - the Avatars aren't suitable for this, because of their built-in animations. Once the aircraft starts rolling, they start running, and when you are airborne, they go into the "falling" animation.

So I am looking for (equally freeware) static Avatars that are sitting down. For example like the one that is shown looking out of a passenger window on the Prepar3D website.  Ideally, a FO model would move the arms around a little bit or hold the yoke, but that is not really a requirement.

Any hints or pointers as to where those might be found would be much appreciated by me and the users of said freeware.

Many thanks in advance and best regards

You might want to contact Christian Bahr over at FSDeveloper. He's developed freeware avatar packages and more recently an avatar riding a bicycle. It's still animated but the rider is sitting.

To my knowledge you have to open the model in Gmax or 3dsMax, delete the keyframes and pose the model in a sitting position. Then recompile it and it will be a static model. I could be wrong about that since  I'm not a modeling expert.

Oliver,

Sorry for the late response but.....there is an uncanny resemblance between Dino C.'s female pilot avatar and the co-pilot in the Iris C-27J. Suspect there has been some cooperation.

Perhaps you could contact Dino and discuss?

(PS we need more female pilot figures in avatars etc.)

Hello Henry,

thank you, I will.

Meanwhile I have contacted Christian, and he is already working on a few passenger and pilot models. He made a prototype passenger for me, and I was able to finish my proof-of-concept. After 30 odd years of solitude in the cockpit, flying with someone sitting next to you is ... odd. Especially since she is animated, fidgeting and looking around.

If you are looking for a nice collection of P3D Avatars, visit "http://www.bahrometrix.de/downloads/" and select "P3D Avatare" (they look a lot better than the passenger prototype)

Hi Oliver,

Yeah Christian is a genius with avatars. He even has a deer avatar and there's a video of it frolicking in the woods online somewhere. I'm curious to see how your work plays out, especially if one switches to FO view mode. I've always wanted to get inside the head of another pilot. 😉

Hello @ll,

Amazing thread!😃

I hope you or someone else can give us a nice 3D co-pilot 😃 We always fly alone 😭😂😂

I'm not a developer or coder, neither a good photo-editor... but from 2 years I'm flying with a woman F.O. (also speaking, with FS2Crew) and a female crew.

obviously they are a simply png...so 2D format....But in the meantime they keep me a good company 😉

I introduce you to my crew 🤣
