He simply asked if the -400 was capable of doing this, and I only confirmed that I had never seen it since the initial release of ACARS functionality. I don't know how often he flies the -400, but I fly it fairly frequently compared to the -8.

Ditto Kevin.... we never had preflight comms in the -400.  Section 5.34 in the FCOM is basically how PMDG modeled their product, uplinks available for RTE, Winds and Descent Forecast.

Copy. I suppose I could have looked at the FCOM if I actually cared enough to even bother, but I admittedly didn't.

James' post made an implication that it was missing, as he said he was unable to do it, as if he should have.

No, I just wondered if it should have been present and I did something wrong or if it's a feature not present on the -400, only on the -8...
