I spend a lot of time with the demo. Even at the low graphics settings I get terrible slowdowns and blurries. I'm used to tweaking FS graphics settings and I can get good framerates in FS9.1 on many different systems but the demo isn't easely tamed. Thats worying as this demo gets exposure outside the ussual FS crowd. If this demo would be my first flightsim experience it would also be my last. From what I've seen in the demo FS-X to me is higer res groundtiles. New look water (in some places it looks beter other places it looks very artificial). Lots of AI (boats, cars, etc) but judging from the performance hit I get you need tomorows highend hardware to run it. I appreciate the extra eyecandy but my experience with the demo is that the costs for this is bluries and low fps and to me thats unacceptable. After more than 3 hours FS X demo time I fired up my trusty FS9.1 selected the Real Air Scout with St Maarten as the departure airport. The scenery was not as spectacular looking and the waves wheren't shiny reflecting the clouds (not that I see that happening a lot in real life BTW) but the flying was fluid and for the first time this day I had fun flightsiming. If the demo is unoptimised code its not very smart to release it to the general public. Before its release I began to get the FS-X fever (t-draggers comments about fly by wire logic for the A321 and the navtec data deal did it for me) but the demo works as a cold shower. If this would have been a paid for scenery enhancement for St. Maarten I would be screaming for a refund. I will buy FS-X only after there is an optimised demo that does show decent performance (or after I see it running decently on a friends PC). Without this demo I would have bought FS-X without hessitation.I don't want to bash the ACES guys I just want to vent the frustration I get from this demo. That can't be the purpose of the demo so what went wrong?
