August 3, 200619 yr Hmm, I think you may want to go back over the posts from the last few years. You might notice:(1) Lots of things people on this forum have asked for (higher resolution terrain, moving jetways, cars on roads, Airbus, documented programming API, visibility fixes, no more blurries) have been implemented. The list includes *many* things that a so-called "gamer" would never notice or care about.(2) Based on what we *have* shown many of the people on this forum are very pleased and are anxious to get FSX when it comes out. Seems to me if we weren't listening to you then very few people here would be interested in FSX.Now, you might also notice that there are suggestions that didn't get implemented but isn't that always the case? And I, for one, don't have a complete list of these suggestions and so can say if "most suggestions weren't implemented" or not. Finally, you might also notice that FS has been around for 25 years and we plan on being around for at least 25 more. Naturally the product will continue to evolve over time based on feedback from lots of customers, including people on this forum.
August 3, 200619 yr That's actually not a bad system for FSX (our min-spec is a 1GHz machine with a 32MB video card). If you like add-ons you might to upgrade at some point but with those specs you should have lots of fun with FSX when it comes out.
August 3, 200619 yr Times have, indeed, changed. The likes of the AVSIM-proposed boycott of FS98 will never be seen again. But, I agree, at this point performance is the real issue. Those who disagree may yet see it our way a week or two after the release. Time will tell...Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. August 3, 200619 yr >I forget what version we all got upset about and AVSIM>attempted a boycott of FS....a few years backFS98. And, based on the the total unit sales, we'd love a similar boycott this time too! ;)
August 3, 200619 yr For the price of a single ski lift ticket this winter I think FSX is a steel - even if it's gonna take a few months to have it running right. What more can we expect for this price sitting in front of a PC scratching your cat? If you just can't accept it's flaws, you can always get your FDE fix by saving up and getting a lesson for the same price as the game (or lift ticket or dinner for two or a pissup with the lads or a nice new PMDG 747)!Cheers,(SONIC) BooneCurrently saving pennies for a new pooter for FSX (don't tell the misses!)
August 3, 200619 yr Great news, i plan to keep my current hardware until autumn next year. Any news about the demo :9.
August 3, 200619 yr Moderator >In 20 odd years MS could not get the perspective>right-a must for any kind of flight training. Your comments are certainly "hillarious!" :)If FS had ever been intended to be used for "flight training," then I'd agree wholeheartedly that it's sorely missed the mark! However, since that was never the intention, what you've written is a complete non-sequitur. :-roll Fr. August 3, 200619 yr I am a real world Pilot...and these improvements add to 'as real as it gets".Quote "(1) Lots of things people on this forum have asked for (higher resolution terrain, moving jetways, cars on roads, Airbus, documented programming API, visibility fixes, no more blurries) have been implemented. I am happy with the flight models that addon vendors provide for the most part.3. I have ActiveSky for better weather. All in all FSX is a great improvement for real world pilots.PS Eye candy is required for "as real as it gets". If not get ELITE or ON TOP Simulator. They are avaiable for your flying pleasure.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
