If the scenery looks like this: D:\MySceneries\MyAirport\scenery D:\MySceneries\MyAirport\texture You use "C:\MySceneries\MyAirport" as the Path of the scenery component in the add-on.xml. The simulator knows that this is a scenery area and it automatically takes the \texture subfolder into account. It is exactly the same as in the old days when you added an airport to the scenery.cfg. Long explanation: regarding the creation of scenery, the specification (Learning Center) speaks of "scenery areas". These scenery areas contain the subfolders \scenery and \texture. The specification for the add-on.xml files (or more accurately "Addon Packages") also calls them that, when it describes the Category of an Addon.Component : Quote Scenery - Refers to a component that adds an additional scenery area to Prepar3D's world. Logic dictates, that this means the same thing, and the path to that area is the top folder that contains both \scenery and \texture. The addon category "Texture" IMHO is meant for texture replacement products like Rex4TD or FScene. Best regards LORBY-SI

July 19, 20196 yr New user here with the "same" question. I created a group called North America and added all my NA airports there. When I see the group screen I click on the plus sign and click off so it's not selected. I hit save and then load up P3D V4 and start at a North American airport that should be disabled but it's not disabled. I was doing this to not load sceneries when I am not flying in that area. I thought this would help P3D V4 run smoother. I think I am missing a step here or I don't quite understand the mechanics. I read the manual which is how I got here but I didn't see too much relating to my problem. I would appreciate any help, thank you.

To activate or deactivate a group, you have to doubleclick on the group name, so it turns green or red. This will activate or deactivate all sceneries in this group at the same time. The checkboxes are a different mechanism (requested by a user) purely for organization - they include or exclude groups from the "disable/activate all groups" buttons. These buttons will only affect groups that have the checkbox set. This is also a concern when you are stacking groups - when you include groups in other groups, included in other groups etc etc. Assuming for example that you have a certain group that you never want to disable - mesh for example. Then you can uncheck it, and even if it is included in another group, it will not be disabled when you disable the parent by doubleclicking on it.For standard operations, just keep all checkboxes checked at all times. I don't know of a video, but I use it very effectively for grouping my sceneries so that I can enable only what I need for a flight. Save a lot of loading and improves those 1 - 3 sec pauses occasionally in intense areas. If I can help let me know.
