Will start this post clarifying that maybe im wrong but I been having issues with the tfdi 717 from day one, I did multiple tickets with them, visited the forums, searched online, etc etc and I cannot enjoy this aircraft due to the switch views CTD's, I have over 20 more aircraft's with no issues so I hardly doubt chase plane will have an impact on this but doesn't hurt to ask and this is my last resource, anyone know if anything possible to do on chase plane to fix the 717 issue? I have chase plane since day one and also the 717 but I haven't been able to do 2 flights together without getting a CTD, thanks for any help and support.

I've been having the issue with the 717 since P3D3.4 and two computer builds later. Many others have reported the problem to TFDI. At first they said it was going to be resolved by the latest LM update that was several updates ago. TFDI is too busy working on the latest project to be worried about 717 switching view bug. I just wrote it off and will never purchase another product from them. For awhile it seemed as if TFDI had closed down and many of the original members are gone. Their forums had gone silent for awhile until the recent updates on PAX.

They have a work around listed on the site which tells me they have given up on trying to fix it. As you said all the other 3rd party developers do not have this problem so it is definitely something in the 717 coding that causes the crashes.

Yep, anytime you open a second window this is going to happen. Even when it's minimized. It's a poor excuse for a fix in all my years of flight simulations since my old Apple IIe days. 

exactly, and the worst thing is not saying anything about it and ignore people

Last word from TFDI on Dec 2018, "Please use the square bracket keys to open up another internal VC view, and minimize it in the bottom corner. This is all we have until a finalized fix is produced by LM." 

They say this every release, every year. More folks need to speak up outside their forums and maybe they will fix this issue.

This aircraft finally did reach a state where it's nice to fly, but the view switching problem has never been resolved and the guys I fly with all had to permanently put the aircraft in the hanger.  In fact, I think most all of them have uninstalled it.  It's a pity though.

Curious if any folks with the CTD use GSX as well?

 

On my system I’ve noticed a trend where this CTD happens when I’ve interacted/used GSX on a flight.  I haven’t had a CTD yet when I’ve disabled it (though I’ve only maybe done about 6 or 7 so far since noticing this).

Disregard, managed to crash the 717 without GSX.

This thread is keeping me from buying the 717.

There is one way you can avoid the B717 Change Views CTD, and that is to use Chaseplane.

You may also try using Disable Full Screen Optimization for the P3D App (right click the Exe file, select compatibility tab).

If you're interested in the B717 for it's Shared Cockpit capability... and still aren't sure the B717 is for you, we are starting a Shared Cockpit community centered around the Aerosoft Airbus Professional A318/A319/A321/A321 and later the A330 and soon after that the Aerosoft CRJ-700X/900X.  The server based Connected Flight Deck is working wonderfully, and we're starting up a Shared Cockpit/Connected Flight Deck community (https://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/clubs/10-connected-flight-deck/).  It promises to be great fun with a lot of different people to fly with.
