Because of the risk of a version update breaking an OS install that is already running well. I've learned to wait when it comes to anything MS associated. But I do appreciate folks who blindly step-up and install a new version... someone has to beta test MS's products. Greg
May 23, 20197 yr I'd be careful with 1903, quite a few 0-day exploits have been published already (last time i checked the count was 7), you may want to wait for the first security update if you use your PC for more than just simming. However, dId anyone of you brave souls test the new variable refresh rate feature with P3D yet? Would be interesting to see if it improves anything, unlike windows game mode which tends to make things worse in regards to P3D Edited May 23, 20197 yr by Woozie

The SHA1 hash function has been known to have very serious security issues for some years now. MS are just trying to prevent a potential exploit. If they didn't, they would be accused of not taking security seriously enough - they're in a no-win situation. i7-14700k | Asus ROG STRIX Z790-F Gaming WIFI | 32GB DDR5 RAM | MSI RTX 4080 Super | WD Black SN850X 1TB & 2TB | Corsair HX1000i ATX3.0 | MSI MAG401QR 40" monitor | Win 11 Pro 64-bit | Meta Quest 3

So then they should make provisions to allow for exceptions--an explicit user override for individual trusted drivers rather than forcing the user to completely disable all driver signing in order to keep one critical device operating.
