That seems to be a peculiarity of the current FSX/ESP-based flight sims. Most modern games look like slideshows at 30FPS and I'd be surprised if MSFS was any different.

Red Dead Redemption 2 on a One X runs at native 4K at 30FPS. And I don't know if it's because of motion blur, vsync, or whatever, but that 30FPS feels a lot smoother than what I get running P3D at 30FPS.

RDR 2 runs the same on the PS4 and any impact of 30 fps is unnoticeable to me. But I think it really depends on the user and the speed of the action in the specific game. The next gen consoles from Sony and MS are projected to use high end CPUs and GPUs from AMD and will probably match any PC in performance.

I think something approaching whatever specs project Scarlett will have. No idea about cpu power, but probably gpu power at whatever the rtx 3080/ 3080 ti will have. If there does end up being a heavy streaming element to this then maybe cpu power and ram amount/ speed will be more important than it is usually for games.

It’s frame timing I think, and is one of the big advantages consoles have if games have been developed specifically for that hardware combination.

the other reason is that we tend to play consoles sitting relatively far away from the screen.
