January 6, 200620 yr Commercial Member HI Guys,I just found a really nice difference with FSX VS Fs2004 default,I Think the amount of data have been increased alot for the DVD, terrain, coastline, mesh, texture etc. Imagine if these data improvement are for the entire FSX world. Need to be Confirmed by Fs team.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=222426&page=http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/137982.jpgThanksChris Williswww.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
January 6, 200620 yr >I just found a really nice difference with FSX VS Fs2004>defaultChris, did you finish your sentence - what did you find and what is the difference? Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg Michael J.
January 6, 200620 yr Amazing isn't it? I love the way technology advances. I'm really looking forward to more screenshots and data on FSX. Thanks for the link Chris!http://home.earthlink.net/~dawgfighter/sit...es/swvasig1.gif-Jeremy BurchSWVA4806 http://www.virtualswa.com/home.phpThe Ozark Dogfighter http://forums.avsim.net/images/wedge.gifHappy Flying!
January 6, 200620 yr He forgot the link. Refresh and see, he edited it and it's here now :)http://home.earthlink.net/~dawgfighter/sit...es/swvasig1.gif-Jeremy BurchSWVA4806 http://www.virtualswa.com/home.phpThe Ozark Dogfighter http://forums.avsim.net/images/wedge.gifHappy Flying!
January 6, 200620 yr ok, got it.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpghttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg Michael J.
January 6, 200620 yr >Imagine if>these data improvement are for the entire FSX world!! Chris, this is unlikely for the whole world. The elevation data alone of this accuracy would fill up the whole (double-sided) DVD and more. I think the game will comne on a single DVD, right? If this is the case around 6 GB would be the limit.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpghttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg Michael J.
January 6, 200620 yr Commercial Member Hi Micheal,They have only said"for the first time Kind RegardsChris Willis
January 6, 200620 yr Did you read Jason's (Pixelpoke) blog? He states quite clearly that all the images they released represent the early stages of development.Secondly, I doubt very much if any FS team member is allowed to confirm what you are asking.Cal (CYXX)
January 6, 200620 yr Commercial Member HI Cal,It's looks better in early stages I think on those screenshots, if you compare the left image and the right image, both are the same area from fsx to fs2004 default.ThanksChris Willishttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
January 6, 200620 yr Oh, definitely! However, as a real world VFR pilot, I hope they can give us improved fidelity of landmarks, such as rivers, lakes, roads, heights of land, etc., *between* the large urban areas. This is about the only wishlist item I've ever had for FS. ATC, VCs, birds, trucks, reflections, etc., are really not that important to me.I like to fly, not sit and watch gauges and push buttons. But, having said that, I realize that the vast majority of users are non-pilots who seem to need much more than a 2D cockpit and stick.EDIT: Oh, forgot to mention.... I'm looking forward to the day when the display Mfrs perfect 3D displays. They're coming -- it's only a question of when, not if. I hope I live that long . The immersion factor for FSers will take a hugh leap.Cal (CYXX)
January 6, 200620 yr Good comparision :). Compare FS9 to the shot below:http://fsinsider.com/screenshots/FSX-FSIns...18-1024.jpg.htm Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
January 6, 200620 yr Thanks Chris, its quite clear that default for default, there is a huge leap in scenery fidelity for the areas depicted. Brilliant, I hope it is extended for many more areas of the world. January 6, 200620 yr The landclass, autogen, and texture improvements won't cause that much of a hit on diskspace if extended worldwide. For mesh I guess we'll see the same we do now, with different LOD levels in different parts of the world with the US being overall most detailed,I'd not be surprised though if the accuracy of that mesh is increased a step or more (so for example from 100m to 30m in the US and from 1km to 100m elsewhere).
January 6, 200620 yr Well, if SEVEN DVDs worth of global scenery can be provided for X-Plane, then why not MSFS ?Chris Low. January 6, 200620 yr Of course it's just a minor change, not worth mentioning. At least according to the whiners and complainers ;)Same clouds, same everything with just some new textures eh?
