More speculations based on DR

Reading the Development Roadmap below tells me that we will only get updated World, Weather, Aerodynamics and Cockpits functionality in the first release of MSFS2020.

Other areas as AI airplanes, ATC, View system etc will not be updated with new functionality.

As they also stated in the August 22 update that the SDK update was planned for August, MSFS will be backward compatible with todays P3Dv4/FSX airplanes( with some minor updates)

I am in no way complaining, I am excited by MS return to flightsim, but this is what I can read out from the DR.

They don't mention multiplayer either, but it's likely there is multiplayer. (Doesn't one of the media pictures show flying in formation?) So maybe they're not previewing everything right now.

You interpreted those bullet points to come to that conclusion? Maybe we should wait a little longer and see if they confirm or deny that.

I just read the Aug 22nd update and didn’t see anything that said the airplanes will be backward compatible from P3D/FSX. Can you point us to that post in case I read the wrong one or is this your interpretation?

They show 4 discovery series, but no one said that those are the only discovery series.

Furthermore, there are things that could be out of the discovery series and implemented anyways.

A bit of a stretch to conclude that.

In fact, they've nailed it.  The world (presumably scenery and terrain modeling) , Aerodynamics, Weather and cockpits,  is exactly what they should be be focusing on first.  Core functionality.  The items which define the environment in which you fly. The rest is peripheral.

But if they are introducing sloped runways (which they have confirmed), then AI must have received some kind of makeover.  AI is the reason runways have always been flat.
