October 2, 20196 yr Any word on how fast your internet speed needs to be for streaming this game? Already get stutters now everytime AS updates the weather in P3D. I know there is an offline mode and ability to precache terrain but what will the quality be compared to live streaming in real-time? Heard precaching might reduce scenery detail slightly to reduce download wait times? Will the Microsoft servers running this be up to the challenge of a large surge of players at certain times and days? The amount of data that has to be sent to the end user regarding satellite terrain weather and shading seems huge compared to online FPS style games... Has there been mention of FPS lag with internet bandwidth bottlenecks? Regards! . Edited October 2, 20196 yr by Kilo60 Chris Camp
October 2, 20196 yr It's way too early to know anything about bandwidth requirements. There will be a Tech Alpha where everybody will be under an NDA, and the testers may even be selected based on available connection quality and distance to MS servers. We probably won't get any real information until there's a public beta (if there is one), where a wide variety of users can see how it works with different connection speeds. X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator on Windows 10 i7 6700 4.0 GHz, 32 GB RAM, GTX 1660 ti, 1920x1200 monitor
October 2, 20196 yr I believe one of the reviewers who tested out the software said it was downloading at 25 mbps https://inspire.eaa.org/2019/09/30/an-inside-look-at-microsofts-newest-flight-simulator/
October 2, 20196 yr Based on the fact that scenery will be pre-cached in some form (even if it's only cached for a minute ahead), I don't think it's likely that will effect FPS. Your local hardware will.

Not only the bandwidth/internet speed, but existing internet plans in every location and costs for the end user.
