December 30, 20196 yr Hello Avsim Forum, since some time now i'm having big framerate issues in FSX-SE, which i was not able to fix , even though i did many hours of research. First thing was, i had around 0.5 FPS with the Aerosoft A320 family on a default airport(i usually have between 20-30 fps), after some tries to fix that problem (clear shader cache, change between DX9/DX10, deleting fsx.cfg and dll.xml) i came to the conclusion, the best option would be a fresh reinstall of FSX, which i did with the help of the DTG Manual. After one hour of installation, i tried again to start the same scenario without any fsx.cfg tweaks (i kept my old FSX-intern settings) and came out with the same result, which is absurd low fps, event with default scenery and default aircraft. I'm really out of ideas now, any help would be appreciated. Greetings, Nicolas My Specs: i5-6300HQ 2,3 - 3,2GHz GeForce GTX950M 2GB 8GB DDR4 RAM Sim Operated on a 500GB SSD (Samsung EVO 850)
December 30, 20196 yr When you're getting that low framerate, open Task Manager, Processes tab, cpu usage...do you see some process using a lot cpu in the list? Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
December 30, 20196 yr Another thing to consider, would be a hardware problem. I'd get program like CoreTemp and see what the cpu is doing. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
December 30, 20196 yr If your computer has a CPU with an integrated GPU, make sure that you are actually using your 950 and not the iGPU. Many PCs have both, and if there's a problem with the discrete GPU (e.g. your 950M) or possibly a system setting, you may be trying to run the sim on an unaccelerated basic graphics processor that is not anywhere near up to the task. A test utility like OCCT might also help identify if there's a GPU problem. December 31, 20196 yr Author Hello, thanks for all the replies. I have no explanation for this, but when i opened FSX-SE this morning, i had around 160-70fps with the default flight, where i had 10-12 yesterday. With the Airbus i still got around 20-30fps which is perfectly fine for me. So thanks for all your help and i whish all of you a heppy new year:) Edited December 31, 20196 yr by Nicolas Landolt

December 31, 20196 yr It might have been software automatically updating itself or possibly your anti-virus software running a scan or updating itself that caused such a sudden and massive drop in FSX performance.
