February 28, 20206 yr As an avid user of AI traffic addons, it would be really fantastic if we could have realistic airline gate assignments. I don't mean having one airline park at a specific terminal, because that is already available, but I mean having a specific flight departing from a specific terminal. For example, BA operates flights to Miami from Terminal 3 at LHR. Being able to configure that in the sim would be amazing.
February 28, 20206 yr If they are pulling live real traffic, would this happen naturally? My brother has Coronavirus, confirmed by testing. On 3/26 he almost didn't survive the night. He had extreme trouble breathing and was given a steroid inhaler. He was very weak, had nausea, and other issues that aren't pleasant. As of this update he is feeling much better, and seems he will be fine. Stay safe out there. (Updated 4/6)

Well it depends on the amount of data that the livetraffic uses or available to use. I know there is a plugin for the competitor simulator that brings live traffic but once on the ground, the airplane is lost and it taxis over the grass and then freezes somewhere... Some aircraft appear on the gate in a strange position, others appear in the middle of the tarmac, jumps occur etc... It's all linked to the transpondor I suppose... I think this plugin uses the same data (not 100% sure) as Flightradar24 for example that tracks the aircarft... Certainly I do not know what data(s) MSFS will use for the Live traffic if it happens. But my feeling is that there should be some airport live feed coupled with offline data for schedules as well as projected calculations and estimations and procedural behavior all this coupled with the live feed in a way or another to be seamless and to create a realistic AI flow... In the MSFS videos the AI seems flowing naturally and not like the Live Traffic Plugin for the competitor title... February 29, 20206 yr Never really got why people care about this sort of thing, but to each their own.

February 29, 20206 yr And usually, your not the only aircraft at an airport or in the same airspace, and not all of us use vatsim, or pilotedge
March 1, 20206 yr Agree, it adds to the immersion for sure! Keeping track of realistic airline gates is tough since airlines change gates a lot. Most important is having realistic airlines at airports they actually serve. Seeing SWA in Australia bugs me LOL. But that's why I prefer bizz jets. March 1, 20206 yr Author Say I use the FANTASTIC Alpha India Group AI (if it’s adapted for the new fs). Could I still be able to have realistic assignments?

Just seems like admin to me though, in the context of all the other amazing things you can do in a flight simulator. Like buying iracing and worrying about whether the motorhomes are in the right parking spaces in the paddock at spa.
March 1, 20206 yr This could be a tall order. Assigning airlines to specific terminals and gates is not that difficult, but gate assignments constantly change. Having specific flights leave from a specific gate based on current real world departure information may not even be possible due to gate reassignments. I would be happy with just having the proper groups of gates assigned to the correct airline without me having to use editing software to assign them myself. March 3, 20206 yr Totally agree with stans. Almost impossible having ‘exact’ gates but having the proper group’s of gates assigned to specific airlines is much more realistic. Being able to assign gates is part of the hobbie for some! Matt Matthew FSX Gold Edition on my i7Haswell 3.5/OC4.5, Asus Z87 MOBO with 16GB/2400Mhz, SSD, and an Nvidia 780GTX on Win 7, 64 bit.
