F70 and F100 AI floating above tarmac

Featured Replies

Hi All

The F70 and F100 AI aircraft float above the tarmac compared to the other aircraft which don't. Can anyone advise how to resolve this please?

Open their aircraft.cfg in an editor program, find the section "[Contact_points]" and change the parameter "static_cg_height". This is the height that a 3D model sits above ground relative to it's 0,0,0 datum reference point. That point can be anywhere on the 3D model, but it usually is near the wing root.

You may have to change the height of the contact points too ("point.x = ,,,,," the fourth number is the vertical position), but I would try the simple parameter first.

Thanks Oliver. I have made changes to the contact point 3 and static_cg_height and it has made no difference. The AI model is the AIA F70 and F100 updated with PBR and Non-PBR models from AIG

I just tried the AIG F70 and F100 in AITX and they don't float at their default config values? Looks like there is some other issue on your end?

Edit: there is something odd about the F100 though, it can't taxi properly and when I switch to AI view it is very far away. Are those MDL issues?

Best regards

Is this happening at different airports?

Hi All

Happens at all airports where I know F100 and F70 fly from. They are the only AI models floating, the others are fine

Craig

Check your contact points.

Theses are what in have in both my own collection and those installed by AIG's AI Manager.

I have never noticed any taxi problems or floating issues with the F70 or F100 on my PC.

Thanks all for you assistance.

The values you provided Dave has the aircraft blasting out of the ground like they are missiles, so they don't work with my system.

I have reverted back to the previous settings and I will let them float. Appears to be something in my setup and since it is only one aircraft type, I won't worry about it for now.

Thanks again all for your time and assistance.

Cheers

Craig

Those entries I provided are also the default ones from AI Aardvark. You must be using a different FDE or something. Is it from an old collection?

Maybe you should ask in the AIG Forum? They are the AI experts and yoz have them from AIG.
