March 11, 20206 yr A nice suite of pics. One of the mystery of the flight simulation industry is why this beautiful area has not been made before. And still isn't for P3D ! Is the water moving ? March 12, 20206 yr Author Ryan and Dominique, thanks a lot for your comments On 3/11/2020 at 5:55 PM, domkle said: One of the mystery of the flight simulation industry is why this beautiful area has not been made before. And still isn't for P3D ! Is the water moving ? Absolutely ! And I also have no idea, why not a single US TE state has been converted yet for P3D. Maybe it's a lack of ressources and with the new sim coming eventually this year (let's keep our fingers crossed!), maybe an investment in more personnel might not be the best option. I have also read somewhere (but I could be wrong) that P3D doesn't handle those TE sceneries as well as XP11 does. I'm also keen to see, when we will finally see the long overdue OLC Africa. No Dominique, the water is not moving, just the default XP11 or in your case, what you know from P3D v3. If you want to see more exciting activities in this department, well, you'll have to wait a bit unfortunately 😊😊 Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080

March 13, 20206 yr Bernd, Dominique: First, glad of your interest in the scenery and the states around here...In the SIM, We're naturally attracted to the far-off, first....with the freedom and ease, it offers. No wonder I lurk around (Orbx's) NZ(NI/SI) so much...(looking beyond the current prohibitive state of affairs, (e.g. Chicago-Auckland) direct flight time is about sixteen and half hours away)....! (And, sometimes I feel I've travelled in Germany more than Bernd...🙂..) Some lead-on (personal and generic) thoughts, below, from your thinking in the post....(having travelled (or at least touched minimally), by road or/and air, almost all of them...in the years past...) I'd read somewhere in the Forum someone saying that: if I've to wait, by the time Orbx (I mean pre-TE Orbx) comes to my state on the East or Midwest U.S., it will be too late.... As you've correctly indicated it's partly due to "Maybe it's a lack of resources" or/and marketing appeal (e.g. Ohio, where I lived for some years, of travel interest, to me, personally, vs. the glorious PNW). Of course, "the New SIM" phenomena, here, now, is surely a factor too. Here is a light-hearted remark: When I used to live in Ohio, an acquaintance visited me from Colorado (the Land of Rockies!), and I told him Ohio is/was called "The Heart of of it All", because it's (roughly) shaped as a heart, (if you folks wish to check)...he told me, after some looking around in the state, maybe, you should call it, "Not so bad, after all!"...Oh well...(I did then take him to the Wright Brother's Bicycle Shop, in Dayton, where it all had started...and told him Neil Armstrong was from around here....) But, such thinking possibly explains the two Rocky sceneries by Orbx... Anyway, practically speaking, our personal interest in (SIM) traveling in some of these U.S. states (or in other parts of the world, for that matter), (with or without natural scenery), with (SIM-based) realism, has not occurred sufficiently to our liking...MSE has helped some for sure...(so, let us look forward now...and, yes, it goes without saying, anticipation is half fun, but it should not be all the fun....🙂...) Interesting discussion. Thanks both and good day! Edited March 13, 20206 yr by P_7878
