P3D Formation Flying

Featured Replies

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is an add-on for offline formation flying? For instance, if I wanted to fly a spot in the Blue Angel diamond, the other spots would be AI aircraft and I could simulate an air show.

Thanks

Marcus

No... But that would be pretty cool.

Hi,

I used to train formation flying with the old FSX Version. Donˋt know how good the P3Dv4 Version is. Maybe this link is interesting for you.

Cheers, Martin

Why not contact the Virtual Blue Angels?  How about looking into TACPAC?  What about the Multiplayer forum right here on AVSIM?

The OP was specfically looking for offline stuff. And AFAIK, the closest TacPac comes is Air refueling (which is dang challenging, but not exactly formation).

You use any model to fly the tracks. A little txt file editing is all it takes. Can adjust speed, etc. in the txt file.

And you will still find it a lot harder than they make it look. Just don't give up after just a couple of goes. It is truly satisfying when you get it right. Even if it's just for a minute or two.

Absolutely, good call, and a good reminder to me to slow down and read better even when I rushing through multiple posts.  Many thanks!
